AKL or WL

I know this is one of those threads where I'll hear ALL kinds of opinions, but I am curious as to the pro's/con's of each resort. We have that bounceback promo already booked for AKL, but I've always wanted to stay at WL. The only issue with this is that WL is about $700 more than the AKL booking?

We've almost always stay at POR in the past, but also have stayed at CSR, CBR, and POP.............this will be our first deluxe, so I want to get the most of it. We really would have liked to stay at the Contemp., but that is just TOO much money.


Anyhow, the things I'm looking for in a resort are:

1. Main Pool!!!
2. Atmosphere
3. Food Court (we eat most, if not all lunches at the Resort)
4. Things to do at the resort (jogging trails, things for kids, etc)

Well, seeing that we have only stayed at the WL, I can only tell you why I booked WL over AKL... the reason being was distance. After doing some research and such - it just seemed better to be at WL because of how close and convienent it was to other resorts, parks, etc. AKL just seemed "so out there" and away from everything except for AK....That is not to say that it probably is a wonderful resort... that is just why we chose not to stay there...

But, I bet you won't go wrong with either....

we'll rent a car, so other than $4 gas, I have no issue with driving a little further........

You made me curious as to why it cost $700 dollars more to stay at WL?
because on disneys website that cost the same per night.

I wondered the same thing since both are listed for something like $205/night off-season..........I think it was the fact that we had a non-savannah view at AKL, but the only rooms available at the WL on the bounceback were water views.

That leads me to another question------I heard the WL is all under (1) roof, and there is no walking to buildings. Is the AKL the same way, or are there multiple buildings?????

Both resorts are in one building. I preferred the pool at AKL. It seemed more open & larger. The atmosphere at AKL is more exotic. No jogging trails at AKL. You could use the pathway to Ft Wilderness Campground to jog from the WL. Not sure about children's programs.
