akl or wl standard view

My first question is did anyone who has the 7for4 deal book this view and what rate did you get?

2nd question is which would you choose considering i want standard view (not in room alot)

I don't know the answer to your 1st question, but I have an opinion on your 2nd question. We'd choose WL for a standard view room. We stayed in a standard view room at AKL in November and never actually got the feel for the resort, which is mostly about the animals which of course we rarely saw. But you mentioned you're rarely in the room, so..... maybe you wouldn't mind the AKL. You didn't ask for comparisons, but one particular thing to note is that WL has the water activities and bike rentals and jogging path, AKL does not. Just depends on what you like in a resort. Also, you can take water transporation to MK from WL. AKL is strictly buses everywhere. On that note, both resorts are absolutely breathtaking -- you would love either one. They just offer different things to do, so it totally depends on your taste.

We booked the 7/4 deal for WL in September - standard room for just over $1400. We have stayed at the WL before but not in a standard room. We really like the WL atmosphere and we don't plan to be in our room alot either.

I prefer AKL to WL - more unique, rooms are lighter and furnishings are newer. I've booked a standard room at AKL twice. The first time we got upgraded to a pool view room (because they had to move us from POR) and the second time we got a savannah room for no apparent reason. There's a chance therefore that you could be upgraded!The standard view in both AKL and WL are of the parking lot usually.

We chose AKL over WL for our spring break trip primarily because of theming. It just seems so romantic and exotic. DH likes the idea of the resort being rather remote so when we return from the parks we can relax and feel away from it all. We are also planning on spending a lot of time at the resort and we loved the look of the AKL pool.
