Alright, I am doing it again. Waffling about which hotel to stay at! I had finally chose Boardwalk Inn because of its location to Epcot. I LOVE Epcot and we tend to eat there a lot.

But I started to look at Animal Kingdom Lodge and looks so nice! Though AK is probably my least favorite resort. Plus, how much time do you really spend at your hotel? But it looks so cool... I would love to be able to go out and have animals near my balcony.

Thoughts?

Hello fellow Philadelphian! While I have never stayed at AKL (it does look beautiful), the Boardwalk is our 2nd favorite Disney resort! With it being so close to Epcot and HS, you can't go wrong! Long bus trip to MK (at least the last time we stayed there - 4 stops - and the Boardwalk was first one oneand last to drop off :scared1: None the less, we love it there! It's so pretty all lit up at night and I'm sure you visit the shore every now and then, so you'll appreciate the funnel cake stand on the boardwalk! I know we do! We also love how close it is to YC and BC if you want to walk over and check out their resorts, eat, shop, etc..Not to mention Jellyrolls is on the Boardwalk  If you have any questions specifically, shoot me a message, but I don't think it will disappoint!

I think it depends on what type of trip you're planning? Are you planning for down time at the resort or are you more of a park commando?

Since swimming might not work out in February (though you could end up with a few days warm enough for it), there would probably be more to do activity-wise at AKL.

But you'd be committing to taking buses to get anywhere from AKL, unless you rented a car.

BWI has AKL beat hands down when it comes to location and TS dining. The other thing to remember is AKL has a true CS location, BWI's CS options are less traditional.

Great dining/shopping options, surrey bike rentals, watercraft rentals, and most importantly- Jellyrolls after a long day battling the crowds!! We also love how close it is to YC and BC if you want to walk over and check out their resorts, eat, shop, etc...If you have any questions specifically, shoot me a message, but I don't think it will disappoint! It's a great resort!

Something happened and my new response submitted rather than an edit. Ignore my first response :)

I haven't been to Disney since 2007 so typically I would say I am in the parks most of the time, but now that I am a little older (and less energetic :P) I can't say or not if we are going to be at the parks all of the time. But I think I would be... I hope. :)

I have stayed at Beach Club before and I remember it being really nice that I could walk to Epcot. I just can't remember how long the walk was. I think I was 17 when I was there last, so it was a really long time ago.

Does the bus for AKL stop at any other resorts? Also does anyone know where I would fill one of those refillable mugs at BWI if there isn't a food court or a really quick service?

Hello! Animal Kingdom Lodge and Boardwalk Inn are two great resort hotels. My first two years working for Disney, I was a housekeeper at Animal Kingdom Lodge! Although Animal Kingdom Lodge is a great resort the only "official" time you are at the resort is when you heck in and are sleeping. I say, go with Boardwalk Inn because:
a) It is in your desired location
b) more nightlife than any other Walt Disney World resort hotel
c) It was voted in the top 5 hotels in the Walt Disney World Resort Area
d) It has great dining & nightclubs

I hope this helps! Have a magical trip!
