AKL or Beach Club?

Any advice on which to choose AKL or BC?

Having stayed at both I prefer the Beach Club for one reason alone: LOCATION! You will be in the heart of WDW with 2 theme parks a short walk or boat ride away, access to 4 resorts and all the restaurants they offer not to mention the boardwalk with it's great restaurants and evening entertainment (again a short walk away) If you have children the Beach Club also has the best pool in WDW!

The AKL is a terrific resort as well and the themeing and ambiance there is incredible, the swimming pool is the largest in WDW and the view of the animals from the rooms is really fun. You also will save a lot of money as the rooms here tend to be a lot less expensive. HOWEVER, you will be far away from EVERYTHING!! The busses are great and efficient, but I much prefer having acces to boat transportation or walkways that the BC has to offer.

We've stayed at both and I prefer AKL. The Beach Club is beautiful, but AKL is so UNIQUE! Plus I liked having one dedicated but for AKL rather than the shared bus that BC and the Epcot resorts use. I also didn't like having to take the boat to Epcot's International Gateway - something about going in the backdoor made it less-magical for me rather than entering at the front. This past trip we choose AKL mainly due to price, but even if I had more money to spend, I would still choose AKL...and have for our next trip! The animals alone make it so worthwhile!! However, if you aren't in to the animals, want to easy access to dining that the Epcot resorts provide, and use the pool alot, I'd say go with the BC as Stormalong Bay really IS amazing!
