wow ... guys its not long until i will be the Animal Kingdom Lodge for my honeymoon trip this october i just have a few AKL questions... ive read through quite a bit of the threads regarding the AKL just hoping to get a few other questions answered....

In the gift shop do they have a good selection of beers/wines to take back to the room?

is their anywhere where i can smoke a nice cigar late evening and have a drink?

How long is the ride from AKL to MK? some people have scared me saying its takes a very long time and the buses arnt that frequent?

were staying in the savannah view rooms with balcony, is their a table and chairs out their or is it literally just a balcony to stand on? any rules about eating on your balcony ?

how busy does the pool get during the day? is a busy resort to stay at?

is their a good selection of african inspired foods to eat?

is their a nice walk around the animals? or a running track? i do like to keep fit whilst on holiday so any idea how the gym facility is?

i know their is a lot of questions their but i would be greatful for any advice of answers, many thanks im so excited.

The AKL is awesome. No complaints at all.

yes, lots of african theme foods......try Sanaa

I saw beer /wine in the shop, i dont drink, so i cant answer or the selection.

lots of viewing areas for animals. no running track near them.

enjoy

yes, table and chairs on balcony.

busses are busses,,, sometimes you win and get there quick, sometimes you dont.

Yes there is beer and wine in the gift shop, but VERY expensive. We stayed Club level, so we had an endless supply of free beer and wine, so no need to purchase.

There are 2 chairs and a table on the balcony. You can eat out there, no rules against it.

We went to the pool one day in the afternoon and it wasn't really busy.

We ate at Boma (the buffet restaurant) and loved it. Lots of different foods to try. Well worth the $$.

The bus to MK was about 20 minutes one way. MK is the furthest from AKL. My 6 and 2 year old didn't even complain about the bus ride, so it isn't as bad as everyone complains about. LOL!

Have a great trip. Totally jealous! =)

Since many of your questions have been answered, I won't chime in on each...
Cigars. There are smoking areas around the resort, but I believe that smoking is discouraged on your balcony (even though I have had to endure other guest's enjoyment).

The gym is not huge, but very nice with lots of treadmills and a sauna. Some people run on property, but that means roads, not a track.

You will not want for African food- it is plentiful- even in the counter service area.

Enjoy your honeymoon and the best resort in the World!:beach:

No smoking is permitted in the rooms or on the balcony. You have to go to a designated smoking area to smoke. There are not many smoking areas at AKL. There is one at the lobby entrance of Jambo House, one at the Jambo pool, one at the Kidani pool and one more at Kidani not sure where.

I'm pretty sure that there are a few seats for smokers at the pool bar.

many thanks for all your help guys,

not gonna smoke around on my balcony or room dont worry about that lol im one of probably the few people that actually stick to my designated area lol

but hopefully i can have a nice cigar with a beer one afternoon

thanks for all the answers again guys never been to AKL im so excited only been to POR on property so far.
