We are planning a trip for October and I have been trying to decide whether we should stay at AKL savanah view room or POR FQ or POR. Our DS will almost be 4 and DD will be 16 months. Should we wait to stay at AKL until the kids can really enjoy it or do it now? I am also thinking there is more room at the AKL which is a plus since we will have the stroller. Last January my sister and I stayed at the Pop Century with my DS and I remember getting the stoller in was a pain and it took up room. HELP!!!

We stayed in December with a 5yo and 22mo, and they both loved it. We love the resort too, but felt like it was too far away from everything (wouldn't be an issue with older kids, but was harder to get back for naptimes) and felt that the rooms were too small (or the furniture too big) for the PNP for our toddler (unless you're willing to put the PNP in the sink area, which didn't work for us).

But if you're debating between AKL and POR/POFQ, you'll have the same issues there (except I think that the double beds leave more room for the PNP).

My kids were older (3&5) at the time but they LOVED it. The animals were a nice distraction so the adults could get ready. We had a bunk bed which opened up the floor space. We had no problem with the transportation and LOVED the direct bus service to the parks. We did go back for afternoon breaks and the bus trip was actually a good way to help the kids unwind after the over stimulating parks. The resort is beautiful and the zero entry pool was just one of the many reasons we enjoyed our stay at AKL.

I may be biased, but PO never excited my family. We love AKL, although we also rent a car, so the fact that its 5 minutes away from the rest of the parks and resorts never really bothered us. Bus service appeared to be pretty good though. Also, different rooms at AKL do have different amounts of space, depending on the type/set up you get...so keep that in mind before you determine it is too small. The animals definitely are great, no doubt about it. Honestly, I'm not huge into the animals, but my kids are and that is why we bought into that resort for DVC. I don't think kids can ever be too young to enjoy anything the parks or resorts have to offer. Anyhoo...with all the different resort choices, there is something for everyone. You should check out pics and reviews of the resorts on the Dis site. Good luck with whatever you decide.

i went in sept 2007 and my dd2 LOVED it.....she loved going on the balcony and looking at the animals, every a.m. she would go to the door and look out and beg us to take her out...i thought i would worry about the balcony (what if she got out) yeh i know low chance but then when we got there and saw that they had good locks (she could not reach) i felt better.....it was our best trip yet...have fun
