AKL Next Year

We have our DVC at SSR, we want to go next July when the schools break up.

Do we:

1. Book SSR at 11 month window to guarantee us a holiday?
2. Wait for 7 month window for AKL.


I am sure somebody has said before that we should do 1, and then at 7 months, see if we can transfer. Can I do this and if so, do they charge for
changes in booking?

Or, if I add on 50 points, can I book my 50 points at 11 month for AKL and also use my SSR ones for 11 month bpooking at AKL at the same time?

Never used anywhere other than SSR and Interval International.

I believe you can make a change without incurring costs.

With regards to the 50 points at AKL; those you can use for the 11 month window, but points are only valid for 11 months at their home resort so you would still have to wait for the 7 month window to use tour SSR points.

There's no charge for changing a reservation and, if you're tied to dates because of flights, it's nice to know you have a DVC to go to somewhere! If you can't switch to AKL straight away, there's always the wait list

Yes, you could use 50 AKL points at 11 months, but you wouldn't be able to use the SSR points for AKL until 7 months. I don't know how many points you'd need for your ressie, but don't forget 50 AKL points could become 150 with banking and borrowing, depending on use year and when you want to travel. Just remember the points have to remain in their banked/borrowed year once they've been moved.

I would use my AKL points at the 11month window and book day by day. Then when they run out, book the rest at SSR with your SSR points. At the 11 month window, switch over day by day. I would also then waitlist by day for the AKL if it is not available.

They will come through, I have never not got what I wanted. I am wait listed for a 1br SV for Dec in AKL, got Studio SV.
