AKL - Need Quick Answer

We are currently booked at CSR for 3/11 to 3/15. After checking the website, it looks like all the moderates and values are booked during this week. Yikes it is going to be busy. I am in the process of upgrading to AKL standard room. Have stayed at WL several times and really like it. Have never stayed at AKL. Since I will be booking standard room, what should I request. All I care about is getting queen beds in a quiet location. I don't mind walking. In advice would be great as I sit on hold.

I'm pretty sure that all AKL standards are queen beds, we stayed in September 2011 and ours had two queens (we were savannah view). If you have young ones and one needs a pack n play you could request that, there is a small fridge and coffee pot.

Kidani Village is quieter, plus you can park underneath your room.

Kidani is DVC only. I think the OP was looking for a normal hotel room.


Pretty much anything that is not pool view will be quiet. There are only a few rooms that overlook the lobby, everything else is pretty isolated.

We had a pool view room that viewed the hot tub...we never heard a peep the entire trip, it was the quietest place in Disney!

We had a preferred room but with bunks which was to the left side of the lobby and it was relatively quiet. With that being said, I LOVE AKL!

Tell them you don't mind walking...we booked a standard view room and were upgraded to a savannah view, but it was at the end of a LONG hall. We didn't mind--in fact we were thrilled with the upgrade!

We had a pool view room, and we didn't hear any noise at all. It is such a peaceful, serene resort. We really enjoyed it.

Yes. DVC studios and villas are available at Kidani. Not standard view rooms. Different prices.

What did you end up doing, OP? I only just now saw this but I'd say don't make any requests and hopefully you'll get upgraded. Twice I've booked standard view and ended up getting a (partial) savannah view. (The majority of rooms at AKL are savannah view)
Or at least request "away from bus stop" or something since that might be noisiest.
