They removed the scent from AKL lobby a few years ago.
BC actually has a signature scent that they diffuse into the lobby.
We stayed to AKL for the first time in March 2016, and it was definitely there, so they couldn't have removed it too long ago. They removed the scent from AKL lobby a few years ago.
It was there in January/February of this year. They removed the scent from AKL lobby a few years ago.
As does bay lake. And theirs is horrendous.
Well if I'm being honest this has not been a very magical stay. We were last at AKL maybe 2 or 3 years ago in October. We had a fantastic time, the cast members here were amazing, the lodge was clean and gorgeous. Certainly less crowded too. This time it's so crowded it's hard to enjoy. The hot tubs for example are so full groups of people are sitting in and on the sides of them drinking all day. It's like spring break. All I wanted to do was rest my feet.Side issue-
Are you enjoying your stay?
Thinking of booking for next year
Funny you say that there was a dog laying on a couch in the lobby this afternoonDo not feel bad. At least you have no scent. AofA, POR, FW, and Yacht Club will soon have a scent of dog. I will take no scent anyday over dog smell, especially when they are wet.
I'm glad I'm not crazy! I was beginning to think I imagined itOP, I missed it, too! We were there in June, and were so disappointed that it was gone. It was such a fantastic scent!

No, not the scent of the wood fire. It wasn't a natural scent. If you are referring to the scent of the wood fire I believe that was something that was outside and inside. Not sure it came from the oven or the fire pit in the lobby, but there was always a clear smell of burning wood when we arrived and during our stays. If it was from the oven I don't know how they could stop that smell. It reminded me of a campfire. We will be there soon and I will be paying attention to it.

People are leaving their trash on tables, drink area is dirty, the prepared foods in the cooler area are gone every time we've gone down. They are consistently out of an entree nightly. I am certain it's because they can't keep up with this crowd. If people would clean up after themselves that would go a long way. This was my favorite all time resort so it may just be we caught them in a very busy week but that will only go so far with me. AKL is not cheap!

We were there earlier this week and most of the lobby smell was from the wood burning oven. The rooms did have a pleasant smell.I'm pretty sure it's the smell of the wood burning oven in the restaurant (that's what I was told by a CM) and I have no explanation for why it would be missing...
