Jambo! DH and I have always stayed value (Pop) with the exception of our wedding where we stayed at Caribbean Beach and did not much care for how spaced out everything was - allow me to explain: We like to have a morning soft drink on the ride to the parks and an evening refill or two... big soda drinkers here (though I'm a Minnesotan so I call it 'pop' not 'soda' ) Regardless, we have booked AKL pool view for our upcoming December trip as a special celebration of me obtaining my long overdue Master's degree (assuming I finish writing it before then ). I'm very thankful for the FAQs here and I think we made the right choice for our soda loving, but also animal loving personalities. Thank you all for the fantastic info!

First of all - congratulations on the masters!

We really love AK...from the first time we walked into the lobby. It really has that, "wow" factor. Walking around and seeing those animals is a great treat, and we like being "remote". It just seems so peaceful there. You should have a wonderful time there.

And I grew up in the Midwest and drink "pop", too

I don't have the answer to this... we only ever saw Chip and Dale there during the holidays. But they were present during your time frame. Hope that helps.

Getting so close now! 25 days til arrival! Have started soft packing, and placed my Garden Grocer order. Magic Bands arrived yesterday (on my birthday - totally sweet!). Got FP for BOGLunch this morning for day 1 of park touring!

What else to do????

So excited that we will be in the world THIS MONTH!!!

New to this thread and tried to find if anyone posted this info but could not find anything. We stayed club level several years ago and I remember a nice continental breakfast and soft drinks through out the day. We spent much of our time at the parks so we missed mid-day and evening offerings. Do they also offer water bottles? Also, does anyone know what else is offered throughout the day and evening? Any info would be greatly appreciated Thanks!

Hi everyone!

DH & I just got back from an amazing stay at AKL. We had such a wonderful time watching the antelope, ostrich, and giraffe that were frequently outside of our room. If anyone is on the fence about staying here - go for it. I think the resort and savannas make up for any long distances to the parks!

Unfortunately, I believe I may have left my Fitbit charger in the room. Considering it costs $20 to buy a replacement, I was hoping someone might have either a phone number or preferably an email address of someone I can contact at the lodge to see if it turned up. I tried searching the thread but didn't see anything. TIA!

May have been noted since this post, but many people order a box fan from Garden Grocer or similar for this very purpose.

First time poster. We took my son here for 3 days when he was 10 months old. We loved it and we are finally going back. I found this board 2 weeks ago and have read every sing post of AKL. Thank you all for all of the info and time you put in to helping other people.
We have 193 days (October 8th) till we arrive at AKL. We have 10 days 10 nights in a grand villa at Kidani. In laws are DVC. My son is almost 5 and it will be our first time back in almost 4 years. CANT WAIT

This is this first time ive read of this. Do they deliver right to AKL? We have a big party. 11 people and my father in law usually rents a car just to go to wal mart. Would this be worth looking into? 10 people for 10 days is usually a pretty big grocey bill. Thank you

They do deliver right to the resort! Check out their website: www.gardengrocer.com

There is also a company called WeGoShop (www.wegoshop.com) that does the same thing.

Um, I think you have less than 193 days - I just made my ADRs @ 180 days out from Jan.1, 2015 - I"m thinking you are more like 93 days away from your return - which means it's time to start planing those FP+ reservations!
The grand villas in the pix I've seen of them look great.

Have you ever tried the Sleep Pillow App for Iphone or Ipod? If you have access to one of those devices that might save you from needing to buy a fan for white noise. You can creat your own custom white noise blend on the app. I have found it to be incredibly easy to use and provides a lot of variety for sounds. You can make blends as well of three sounds.

I was able to get a villa last minute on pts sooo it's Kidani 1 bed savanna view July 19-23 for us.

I was really surprised to find this less than 30 days out just checking the member website randomly. Pretty excited to do the mine, E&A, BOG lunch and the new Frozen activities at HS with my grown kids haha

We have never done this before on all our Disney trips so not sure how this works. We have a package for the first part of our stay and then a room only for the last three nights. Is it possible to ask to just stay in the same room? The package and room only are booked in the same resort category.

I'm pretty sure you will get to stay in your same room as long it is the same class you booked.

If you received pixie dust and got upgraded to a higher class of room they might move you back down to your original booking class.

Not sure what time of year your going but if it is during low crowds you probably won't have any issues and I really don't think there would be any anyway.
