Well, I start my new job this afternoon...Nervous? You bet! I know I'll be fine, but anytime I start anything new, it's nerve wracking!
We're supposed to get snow, too:sad2: Think sending pixie dust to Mother Nature would help?:rotfl: pixiedust:

See ye later! Might be very late tonight, though!

Just wanted to say hi! Got back from a wonderful trip to WDW (the Poly was great, but next trip I will be back at AKL!!) just to be a victim to that virus again that had bothered me before my trip :crazy2: While it was nice of that virus to let me be healthy in WDW, a repeat visit was really not needed!!

BensMom, we had a great dinner at Flying Fish. It's now my favourite restaurant at WDW!! :thumbsup2 Unfortunately I totally forgot to ask for Bob, so we ended up with a server named Chris, but he was great, too. But Bob was the server at the table next to ours and we saw him dealing extremely professional with an awkward situation: the couple next to us was celebrating her birthday and he seemed to be very unhappy about her choice of restaurant. The only thing he wanted to eat was fish and chips which was not on the menu. She was really upset about her husbands behaviour, but Bob and a chef talked to this guy and in the end he got his fish and chips and they rescued this poor lady's birthday dinner! I was really impressed with that kind of service!!

I can see why you will be back at AkL. I have never stayed at the Poly (only hung around there), but my first impression is that I would choose AKL over it.

But, OMG, FISH & CHIPS!!!??? What a freaking BOZO! You don't go to a signature restaurant and get fish and chips! Oh, I would have had something to say if I had to sit next to them!!! At my age, if I think it, it comes out of my mouth. I would have laughed so hard at that guy! But Bob, I can't believe it, pulled it off! I will have to mention it next time I see him. We actually ate there Saturday night with Bob, and I asked if you were in. He said he didn't remember anyone from Germany. Oh well. He'll know when I mention the fish and chips story! That's one for the books.

I am glad you enjoyed it.

We were back Sunday night...stopped in after an all-day KimPossible session at World Showcase with Ben. We saw Lorna at the bar and stopped in for a nightcap. This is so cool...so Phil, Ben and I were sitting at the bar and one of the kitchen staff came over and asked Lorna to be an unformal judge at a dessert brainstorming session, sort of like a Top Chef contest. We said, "Go ahead, we'll be fine." Well, all of a sudden, the chef came over and invited us into the kitchen to watch! It was too cool! The chef on duty that night (Tim Keating went home already) talked to us for a bit. It was his last day at The Fish. He is joining the staff at the new restaurant over at Kidani Village!

All the best to you and your new position!

Heh, heh! I told my DS that maybe Phil meant six more weeks of winter up north, but down here maybe we'll get warmer weather. :rotfl2:

Sorry to my northern friends about whining about the cold -- I'm from Texas, and I don't know why, but the winter here this year has been too cold for me. I need to move to Florida. South Orlando maybe. Cleremont. Celebration! :cheer2:

Come on down...the deals are hot!!! There is a house right across our little park. I have been watching the owners, who are being foreclosed upon, totally gut their house...first the chandeliers and the stainless appliances. Then I watched the granite countertops and extremely high-end custom cabinets leave. The toilets walked out and last but not least, this week the interior doors marched out and into a waiting pickup truck! I am sure that'll do wonders for OUR property values in our neighborhood.

Does anyone know when he starts or started? I have seen some disappointing reviews of Jiko recently.

Pics will come soon, still need to get them from camera to computer then on photobucket... And I will post one special picture on Friday!

Yes, I am sure Bob will remember the fish and chips guy! What a great treat to be asked into the kitchen to watch! Did you get to taste the desserts as well?

Welcome back! Sorry to hear you got sick again - ugh. :sad2:

It is quite annoying, but I am feeling better today, so hopefully I will be ok again tomorrow...

Athenna, I hope your first day at your new job was good! I wish you all the best for it. Does that mean that the trip you have planned will happen or will you postpone it?

Hi everyone!:wave2:

Just checking in...These hours arent condusive to me being able to be on line much...Cant do it from work, it is a fireable offense...Frist day wasnt what i had expected...The company doesnt give the phone agents breaks:scared: Me and the other new woman went to management and complained, it's a MASS state law, if you work 8 hours, you have an unpaid 30 min lunch and 2 either 10 or 15 min paid breaks....They acted like deer caught in the headlights....All the other agents complained all night about how much they hate it there, not a good first impression....And they were saying they haven't had a decent commission in months:sad2: What have I gotten muself into now?:confused3 But I need a job, so I'll keep an open mind and still send out resumes.
But since the new boss said no problem to go to WDW in May, I bought the airline tix this morning:cheer2:
Just 102 more days until AKLV Kidani!:cheer2:

They expect you to work for 8 hours without any break at all? :scared:

I hope you find something better soon or the job will improve, but at least it brings you back to WDW! :goodvibes

Yikes! :scared1: Well, when I do move there (notice I said when, not if, lol!), I hope to have a whole house -- not just a shell. ;)

Sorry things aren't as happy as you thought they would be. But being allowed to take the time in May makes it a little easier, I know. Plus, there is nothing at all wrong with continuing to look! :thumbsup2
