Thanks for thinking of me! :wave2: But Laura was right, it's Brook arriving today. But I think after highs of -26 she will be quite happy with lows in the positive 20s :goodvibes

I am watching accuweather closely and it looks like it will warm up by the weekend!! :thumbsup2 We will arrive Friday evening.

But at the moment, I do feel like a poor Flossbolna, I got a nasty cough and even had some real fever yesterday evening. I stayed at home today and hope to be fit again tomorrow to go back to work to tie up all those loose ends before I am away for a week. And I really felt so lousy today that I even did not get any packing done or so...

Flossbolna -- I hope you start feeling better soon!!! We can't have you sick for Disney!

And, I agree that +20 degrees is way better than -26! But still, I hope it warms up quickly for Brookelizabeth!

...it makes ME feel a little bit better.....:rolleyes1 :teeth:

LOL - Meanie!!!!

But yeah, I agree with you!!!!! I hope you guys FREEZE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Seriously though............ it's suppose to be in the 70's here the rest of the week so, I'm hoping that it warms up really nice for both of you!!!

Bensmom - I know how you feel - it has been that cold a few mornings here.......... BRRRRRRR

I'm sending everyone pixiedust: for some warm weather!!!!! ::yes::

So sorry you are sick! But at least your fever came before the trip, not during it! I hope you feel much better soon! :goodvibes

Hi, all --

Remember John'sMom who took the picture of the sculpture in Zawadi:

Here are a few pictures from Zawadi Marketplace:

I did some more research and his name isn't Robert something-or-other, it is Timothy Babatunde Adebule, a.k.a. Bushman#1.

Here's his web site http://www.bushman1artgallery.com/ and the print I purchased:

I can't seem to embed the picture -- I've been trying for two days, so here's the link. The title is "Celebration."

He is very nice!

I'm going to check out his website. I think I missed your post about it but, ......... I'm assuming you purchased your print at Ziwadi? It is beautiful.

ETA : I found this little article about him:

Artist brings a little bit of Africa to Disney Resort

For one weekend every month, the Zawadi Gift Shop at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge becomes a makeshift studio for Timothy Babatunde Adebule. That’s when the artist known as Bushman #1 (“araoko akoko” in his native
tongue) takes the stage to create his African-inspired art in front of Disney Guests.

“I love for people to ask me about my art and life,” Timothy told us. “They can see the creative process while asking me questions about my technique.”

Timothy grew up in Nigeria, where his passion for art developed at an early age.

“I draw and create from life experiences in Africa,” said Timothy. “But, being at the Lodge inspired quite a few pieces of mine. And sometimes a Guest will suggest something I have not drawn — that’s how many of my animal pieces came to be.” For Timothy’s schedule of appearances, call the Zawadi Gift Shop at 407-938-4787.

and also this :

through Oct. 27 ( I am assuming by the date on the website this is through Oct. 27, 2009)http://www.orlandoweekly.com/features/story.asp?id=11012

Artists of African Descent Group exhibition by local African-American artists Timothy Babatunde Adebule (aka Bushman 1), Olugbenga Abioye, Pamela Camille, Emmanuel Chipungu, Ken Gimblet, Evelyn Karuhanga, Everett Spruill, Shvilla Rasheem and Phi Yoba, displaying new paintings, sculptures and mixed media works. 8 am-5 pm Monday-Saturday. Casselberry City Hall, 95 N. Triplet Lake Drive, Casselberry; free; (407) 262-7720.

** Also, on a side note, my SIL is in Kenya right now. She is a teacher at a school there. She absolutely loves it and says the people have been so warm and loving towards her. This print expresses the beauty of the culture she talks about!!! Thanks for sharing!!

Yes -- I did purchase it at Zawadi. There were several others that I liked as well. I guess I'll just have to add one every time I go.

Funny -- I tried saving that pic to my hard drive, then uploading to Photobucket and posting, but it just wouldn't work. Thanks for posting it!

I still need to pack, but instead I am here on the DIS... :rolleyes2 I am off tomorrow early morning and promise to bring back AKL pictures from when we are there for dinner at Boma! :cool1:

Now, off to pack, early to bed to get enough sleep to shed the last remains of the cold!!

Bensmom, I have noted down all your advice on servers and will report back on how it went. I hope it is ok, if I tell Bob that you recommended him highly!
