The hubby and I are renting points for a studio at AKL. We are thinking of club level, but MUST have a safari view for our 3 year old! Is safari view guaranteed with club level at Kidani Village or is it a crap shoot?! Opinions needed!!

first of all club is not at Kidani - just Jambo house

and yes only some villa have a view of the savannah (I think)

Do you mean savanah view? If so then you would be better off booking the savanah view than booking club level as it isn't a guaranteed view.

Yes, my son is 3 and loves animals so we definitely want a savanna view! I would like club level because we normally stay club level at the Fairmont Hotels and I like the concierge and snacks! Savanna is more important though!!

Savannah view Club level villas at Jambo are on the top floor at the very end of an arm on the Sunset Savannah. The vantage point it very high up and the view is partially blocked by the roof architectural details. We didn't mind it but there are certainly much, much better views from the fifth floor SV villas. Also keep in mind that for CL inventory there are only 3 two bedroom equivalents (studio/one bedroom lockoffs) that even have savannah view at all, the other 2 two bedroom equivalents are pool view and you cannot get a guaranteed savannah view in the club level category. To even have a chance at a CL villa the owner would have to be online to book at 8:00 AM eastern, exactly 11 months from arrival date, and even then you are not certain of getting one. You would probably be much better off booking a regular Savannah View villa at Jambo and request the central savannah, (can't recall the name just now). You won't be disappointed. We recently heard that the Animal Kingdom Lodge was voted the BEST resort hotel in America by the travel industry.

For club level there are five two bedroom lock-offs in the Jambo building that can become 5 1BRs and 5 studios. They are very hard to get. Three of the 2BRs (one of which is an HA room) face the Sunset savanna, two the pool and you should not count on getting savanna view even if you get one. Moreover the savanna view from those rooms is not that great. You get club level for the services not the view.

If you want a guaranteed savanna view, you must select the savanna view room category. At Jambo you might request with savanna view to face the Arusha savanna which is the savanna in the center of the u-shaped building. In fact, you should consider a request for Arusha savanna along Zebra Trail (requests are not guaranteed). At Kidani you should request Sunset savanna view if you want to see giraffes (the other much smaller savanna there, Pembe, has no giraffes).

In Jambo House, the DVC rooms are on the 5th and 6th floors, the lower floors are AKL hotel rooms. The tree tops block part of the view from the higher floors. Kidani Village is all DVC so it gives you the possibility (though not a guarantee) of getting a room on a lower floor with a better view of the savanna.

If you want a better view of the animals book a Savanna View room at Kidani and request Sunset Savanna and lowest floor.

Try to book Concierge Level if the view is the least important thing and the snacks are the most important thing. As stated already, there are so few DVC Concierge rooms they tend to get booked 11 months out so get an owner lined up about a year ahead of your travel dates.

Thank you so much!! We will do the view over the snacks!! My son who will be 4 when we arrive is
Most excited about the giraffes so I'll be sure to make a request for the certain views!! Thanks again!!
