AKL Kidani standard view

If you look at that map of Kidani, the standard views are in the first four billets (boxes) of rooms starting from the lobby, running four to the north and four to the south and facing west (for the picture of Kidani, east is at the top of the picture). The last three billets on the south have no standard view rooms and in fact no rooms facing W/SW and the ones looking W/NW over Pembe after the first four billets are savanna view. My understanding is that there may also be a small number of standard views at the end of the north wing on the Pembe side (the grand villas have been changed to standard there) because the animals really don't go to that area except when they are being lead out of or into the savannas.

We were in a standard 1 bedroom in February in the 7924-7933 section (can't remember the room number but it was the closest room to the Pembe savanna in that 'node'. We had a great view of the pool and could see some of Pembe from the corner of the balcony closest to the savanna. We loved Pembe savanna btw. We found a greater variety of birds and animals there then on the Sunset savanna when we got staying in a savanna view room the trip before that. On Sunset all we consistently saw from our room was a group of Ankole. We still enjoyed it, but if we had a full view of Pembe we wouldn't have felt shorted for paying savanna view points and ending up there (just to give another opinion on that particular savanna!).

Just as an fyi...Animal Kingdom isn't the only resort where the room categories aren't quite so neatly separated. At BLT some people get pretty nice MK views from Lake view rooms. We stayed in 2010 in 2 Lake view studios. My parents were in an HA Lake view and when we walked into their room we were amazed at the excellent view of Tomorrowland, Cinderella's Castle AND Bay Lake!

we stayed in room 5133 this past August at Jambo and it was a value studio facing the Savanna.. every morning we woke to giraffs and zebras...

Can anyone tell me which rooms at Jambo are value based on that map that was provided?? FOr the lower point value they are so worth it.. its the best kept secret of DVC!

we requested a higher floor and got it but our standard view was of the cars dropping off at the lobby (we were to the left of the lobby and up) noisy location when you were on your balcony. we still saw a ton of animals all day long, in the corridor(big viewing windows) waiting for the elevator, on the outside decks, etc
if i did standard view again, i would request not to have a view of the lobby area.
