Help me...we have never stayed here before but are staying one night in August. We have a savanna view booked...we want to see the giraffes from our balcony...what do we request? Is there a particular floor that's better for viewing the animals? TIA

Request a lower floor. A higher floor is ok, but the lower you are, the closer you are.

The animals have been moved around the savannas over time (meaning that on different trips to AKL, we found different animals on each of the savannas). We wanted giraffes and I actually put that down as my request -- that way no matter where they might be the room assigner knows exactly what you want.

At Kidani, only the Sunset Savanna has giraffes. The Pembe Savanna has Okapi and other animals.

Sunset Savanna view (for the giraffes), 3rd floor, near the pool (provided you think you'll use it during your stay).

Tip: You do NOT need to go to the lobby to get out to the pool. If you're on the "pool end" of the resort, just take the nearest elevator down to parking. You'll have an easy walk to the pool, via sidewalk and the side gate.
