AKL - Kidani Dedicated 2 Bdrm. Savannah Room Suggestions?

Hi All!

We'll be making our first visit back to Disney as DVC Members soon!

We'll be staying at AKL and want to stay in Kidani Village, dedicated 2 bedr. w/savannah views. We will have 3 little ones with us and want a great view of the animals...has anyone stayed recently and can make some room suggestions for us?

Is it better closer to the lobby/pool? Did your room have a GREAT view and if so, which room did you have?

Any other suggestions would be great!

Do you have a car? If not, I would suggest request getting a room near the lobby. We requested near the lobby once, and got the first room off the lobby. With no request, we were 6 beads off the lobby (6 out of 8, which would have been fine if we had a car but we didn't). Also, decide which savanna you want to be on and request that as well. In 2 trips, we were on both savannas. It will depend on which animals you want to see.

At Kidani, requesting a lower floor will give you a better view of the animals.

Do not make lower floor top request. Make close to lobby top request and if you want lower floor make it the second request. Close to lobby gives you excellent views of Sunset savanna which has giraffes (Pembe the smaller savanna to the N/NW of the resort does not) and also puts you close to store, community hall, pool, restaurant, and bus stop.

Particularly with three little ones, you want to avoid a room far from lobby. The walk from lobby to end rooms on the two wings is the longest walk down an internal hallway in a hotel that exists anywhere on earth. If you have three little ones, and any of those are actually walking from lobby to room, plan on a 10 to 12 minute walk to your room if it is near end of a wing. Before AKV came along. members used to complain about the excruciatingly long walk from lobby to end rooms at BWV. That distance at BWV is 1/3 of the distance at AKV Kidani.
