We are using our membership to stay at Kidani village in a standard 1 bedroom this spring. For those who have stayed there, do you have any suggestions on room location requests? I understand a request is just that and may not work out, but I'd like to make a note on our reservation that might land us in a nice spot ;)

Thank you!

It just depends on your priority. We are pool people so our request was to be placed between the pool and lobby. Other priorities maybe closer to the transportation, near AKL Jambo house, near a smoking area, near community room or away from the lobby where it might be quieter.

Best of luck!

We usually request close to lobby because let me tell you, those hallways are LONG!!!

With standard view, you might consider one of the following: (a) close to Rafiki elevator -- puts you on the north wing not too far from lobby and near that elevator which provides the shortest possible walk from the building to the pool; (b) pool view -- broader than previous request and puts you on the north wing, which is away from any real traffic; (c) close to a standard view Grand Villa -- puts you on the north wing with a rather long walk to lobby but gives you a Pembe savanna view room that has been converted to standard view; (d) close to community hall -- puts you on south wing close to lobby, community hall and bus stop; (e) close to Timon elevator -- puts you on the south wing a little further from the lobby than close to community hall and puts you nearest that elevator that can take you to second floor very near the door that provides shortest walk to bus stop.

You are not kidding! We requested a room close to the lobby on our recent visit and ended up in 7674 which is almost all the way to the end (I think it goes up to 7682). I could not believe how long it took to get to the room each evening. I had heard people complain about the long walks to rooms at BWV. I have stayed at the end of BWV and believe me, it is nothing compared to Kidani.

I would avoid requesting close to lobby as some have suggested and instead choose one of those requeste I suggested above, and do so for the very rerason that comes out of the above post -- many who are requesting close to lobby these days are not getting it and end up far from lobby at the end of the hallway (which is actually three times longer than the longest hallway at BWV). What has happened is the following: (a) anyone who has been there and gotten a room far from the lobby makes a close to lobby request the next time they go and (b) close to lobby is one the few location requests you can make when doing online check-in and thus is chosen by a large number. The result, many who make that request end up with a room far from the lobby because the request cannot be met and the hotel's default position when it cannot give you a location request is to simply put you in any available room rather than something close to what you requested.
