AKL Jambo or Kidani?

I need help deciding! I know for sure I want to stay at AKL for my solo trip January 28-30, 2017, and I'm 90% sure I'm going to rent DVC points to do it. My question is: should I try for Jambo House or Kidani Village? I've never stayed deluxe before and, honestly, I'm more of a park person than a resort person, but I plan on spending a little more time at the resort this trip since I'll be by myself. How's the parking? The transportation to the parks? Tell me your favorite and not-so-great things!

How important is access to quick service dining to you?

If the answer is "v. important!!!" choose Jambo, if it remains available for your dates. (It books up sooner than Kidani due to quantity available.)

Kidney pool has a better children's play area, which is probably not relevant for you. Buses stop at Kidani first before going to the parks, but that shouldn't be a big transportation issue for your dates.

We stayed at Kidani 2 years ago and loved the resort. We had a savannah view and had coffee while watching the animals every morning. It is a long resort. Meaning that we were on the far end from the lobby. It was a hike to our room at night since we were the second to last room going down the hallway. Also we were on the total opposite end from the pool area as well so that sucked. At the end of the day it was not fun getting back to the room. Besides that we loved the resort and loved having a quick lunch at Sanaa. The food there was great. The transportation is shared between the two resorts. They stop at Kidani then Jambo so the only benefit is to stay at Kidani since the bus may be full once it gets to Jambo. Either resort I think you will enjoly but for me I would go back to Kidani.

Agree with what @_auroraborealis_ posted above. Additionally:

If you're driving to WDW, parking is A LOT better at Kidani than it is at Jambo.

We have a lot better luck seeing animals on the savanna at Jambo than Kidani.

The lobby is better at Jambo by a mile.

That's actually probably one of the less important things for me. I don't eat breakfast and plan to have the rest of my meals in-park. The fact that the buses stop at Kidani first is a big one in the plus column for me because I hate driving on Disney property.

Ahh, this is good to know. I don't mind a long walk back to the room at night, but the bus situation makes me lean toward Kidani.

Well, earlier today, I thought the transportation had decided me on Kidani, but I just changed my mind and decided to go with Jambo for the Victoria Falls Lounge and because the consensus seems to be that you see more animals at Jambo.

Our first deluxe was AKL Jambo. Loved everything about it. If you ever don't feel like walking, there is a quick shuttle that runs between Jambo and Kidani. Was wonderful after long days :)

We are renting points for our trip this November and picked Jambo house because we want to see the lobby all decorated for Christmas. :)
