Hi, I booked a 1 bd savannah view in the Jambo building the other day. The CM told me that if I booked concierge, a savannah view could not be guaranteed. My question is once we arrive is it possible to upgrade to concierge paying cash for it because I'm out of pts through 2011. My hope is that since we'd have our view, we could add concierge as well.

Sorry, that's not possible. The savannah views from concierge aren't all that great anyway. There are only a small number of concierge rooms and it's the luck of the draw. (actually I think the pool view is better for concierge).

I don't even think the pool view is that good. It's more of the roof than the pool. However, that doesn't keep us from enjoying the concierge service. We have it next week!

Book concierge if you have the points. You cannot book savannah and then upgrade to concierge when you get there. Book a studio if you only have 4 people.

Thanks y'all I appreciate the feedback. Honestly, concierge was just going to be an extra perk. I'm thrilled to be staying at the AKV for the first time and that will be enough.

I booked the 1 bd because my friend and her 9 yo son who is autistic are coming with me. If Christian is having a melt down- doesn't happen often but does happen- they can have a quiet place by going into the master bedroom.

It may be too late, but 2 studio concierge book for just about the same points as the 1 bedroom concierge. No kitchen of course, but you have the lounge to meet each other in.

Thank-you!

I do notthink that is possible. There are only 5 DVC rooms that are concierge and they are usually gone at the 11 month window.

It's 5 two bedroom lockoffs, so there could be 5 studios and 5 one bedrooms. A friend was able to get a 1 bedroom for late June 3 years ago.

We were disappointed when we got pool view and asked if it would be possible to take a regular 1 bedroom with a savannah view and still get lounge priviledges. They said no. It was a milestone birthday for my friend and the concierge worked some magic so that we could move into the savannah view the next day, but it was the handicapped one. The view wasn't that great, we did not see many animals, mostly just an ostridge that cried all night. But Kidani was under construction at the time so that didn't leave much room for the animals to wander over.

Looks like someone on a wait list might luck out....we are thinking of cutting our AKL Concierge stay a little short, from 10 nights to 5, during the first week of June.

I stayed there last month in a split stay with Kidani. IMO, the main reason to stay at the Concierge is Sunrise Safari. The lounge and snacks were a nice bonus, but I'm not sure that really justifies the added points. We had one of the pool views. It would have been disappointing if we weren't moving to a savanna view. Even the savanna views aren't onto the main savanna, and all rooms are on the 6th floor with an overhang. Another issue is that these rooms are right under the air conditioning exhausts on the roof. From our deck, it really was very noisy. VLee -- I would recommend splitting with a regular savanna view, if that's what you are considering. I think the best thing about AKV is sitting on the balcony with a cup of coffee or glass of wine and relaxing with a view of the savanna.

I have a ? If there are only 5 how many regular concierge rooms are there and is it the 5th floor that they are on?

The DVC Concierge rooms consist of five 2BR lockoffs, so up to ten rooms total if all of them are "locked off" and rented as 1BRs and Studios. They are all on the 6th floor. Since DVC moved in and took over all of the deluxe rooms on the 5th and 6th floors, the AKLodge (hotel) concierge rooms are now on the 4th floor.
