AKL for $119 a night?

I read on the official WDW website about a special rate at AKL - I think it was good oct - Dec (can't remember the exact dates). The code was CKP and it was called Funshine Getaway. So I called to try to book for 11/27 - 12/1. CRO said it would be $176 per nite including tax which isn't bad. BUT that's not $119. I asked her why and how I could get $119 and she didn't seem knowledgeable and couldn't even answer my question.

So, I'm wondering if anyone has gotten the $119 rate at AKL?

I would bet that it is because you are checking in the day before Thanksgiving. There may be a blackout around the holiday. There are several code specials that have a blackout 11/26 - 11/29.

The $119 is only for the standard view room at the AKL. Which view did you book? Standard, pool or savanna?

We booked AKL standard room for Dec. 4 for $119/night. We used a code from mousesavers.com.

Oh - maybe it is because of the dates I was going.

Tiffany, I asked for a standard view and all they had left was Savannah. I don't think I'd like to stay at AKL without a savannah view room.

Unfortunately, that's the only time I can go due to lack of vacation days at work. I get Thur and Fri for Thanksgiving and I added one vacation day (the one I have left) to try and make it a decent amount of nights.

I have the Yacht Club booked already for those dates ($209 per night for waterview using a code from Mousesavers) but I thought if I could get AKL for $119 I'd switch. Finances are getting tight for us and I'm probably going to have to cancel - and I thought this rate might be the answer. We did go back in May so if I can't go again this year I won't cry too much (maybe).

I'll keep searching for discounts and see if we can do any better. I really don't want to stay at a moderate. Besides, it said on the website that moderates and values were blocked out for that week. Deluxes weren't suppose to be blocked out. But, maybe they are.

If anyone can think of anything...let me know. Thanks so much.

Thanks for clarifing that the $176 including tax quote was for a savanna view room and not a standard view room. $176 inc tax is a great rate for a savanna view room.

If finances are an issue great rate or not if it does not fall within your vacation budget then it does not matter.

Hope your situation imporves so that you will be able to make the trip. Have you thought about a moderate? I think if my choice was to not go at all or stay at a moderate or a value resort again I would stay at the moderate or vaule.

I was looking into this rate too - from what I've read it is only available on-line from Disney. They list it from Nov 3 to Dec 25, but there are blackout dates during thanksgiving week. I put in other dates and there was some availablilty! They also have ASMu and ASsports for $55/night and PO/POFQ and another resort at about $89 or 99/night (can't recall). They have another special from some time in Oct until Nov 2 which has a bit higher price, but they are still good rates - Good luck!

I just got a postcard in the mail for the animal kingdom lodge for $129 a night plus tax standard view. But $119 would be an even better price!

There are only a limited number of rooms available for that discount. Keep trying...maybe something will open up.

I checked out Expedia.com and the rate currently is $159/night for your dates. It's for a Savanna View. The Standard Views are probably sold out. You don't need any special codes. We are going to WL from 12/24-12/26 and I was able to get WL for $119/night through Expedia. To get these rates, you have to book very early.
