Mods you can move this if you think it more suited to the restaurant board.

What I'm wondering is whether or not the AKL has a food court option. I was thinking Mara was like that and now I'm thinking its not. Please help.

Mara is a food court like any other one. You can get hotdogs, hamburgs, and all kinds of different things. It is open form 6am till I believe 11pm.
But you must try Boma at least one time. I am a very picky eater and DH and DGM wanted to eat there so I went along. It is FABULOUS!!!!!! They do have some "regular" food there as well. But trust me it is great we ended up eating there a total of 8 times during our stay at the AKL.
Their is also Jiko which is a very nice rest. I never got there. Didn't think it was a place for a 2 yo.

Mara has a large variety of food. Common food court food is available BUT they also offer some unique, African themed foods for the more adventurous. There was a great Tandori chicken pizza and the soups are also great. Enjoy!:D

Hey Tiiiigergal!

Mara definitely falls under the classification of a food court. It offers a wide variety of items that you can either eat there or take with you -- fresh fruit and pastries, grilled sandwiches, ice cream and desserts, as well as the pop and coffee machines for the refillable mugs.

I also agree that you should give Boma a chance. It is really a family restaurant. I took my picky eaters there, and they loved it! As a buffet, there is a great chance to experiment, then go back to the old faithfuls if that doesn't work;) The servers are very attentive and friendly, suggesting foods to try and keeping the little ones happy!

Hope this helps:wave:

Thanks for the replys. We definitely plan on trying Boma but there are times when a buffet is just more money and food than you want!
