Hi

Could someone answer a question for me. In the UK brouchers for WDW they say that in the AKL at night they have firefly affects in the lobby. Is this true and does anyone have pictures

thanks in advance

Before the AKL opened, I remember reading about "artificial moonlight" illuminating the savannahs. Here is a quote from the www.wdwmagic.com website (I think that was the first website where I read about this):

Animals populating the savannah of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge either originated at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park or arrived from other accredited zoological facilities, Kalla says. Nighttime viewing of the animals “that just adds to the whole African experience” will occur with the help of artificial lighting that mimics a very bright full moon, he says. “People hopefully will leave with a greater appreciation for wildlife.”

By the way, they have some lovely nighttime photos posted: click here to view them.

SpaceMountain_uk, you're welcome. If you find out anything about the "fireflies," please post the info back here on the Dis.

I don't recall seeing anything resembling a firefly in January.
