I MUST make a decision ASAP before the last room goes! We are looking for an AKL stay...would you recommend KIDANI 1 BEDROOM or JAMBO HOUSE 1BEDROOM VALUE vs. 1 BEDROOM STANDARD (anyone know the difference in Square Footage. Will be travelling with 3 kids. What is recommended? Thanks!

It depends....how many in your party, how long of a stay and how important is it that you save points? I'd go for the value if I was looking to save points, but if I had a "full house" I'd go with the one bedroom in Kidani.

We chose Kidani for my upcoming trip with myself and my two cousins. I want that extra bathroom :0)

Good luck with your decision.

AKV 1-bedroom villas approx. square footage:
Jambo House - Value: 629 sq. ft.
Jambo House - All others: 710 sq. ft.
Kidani Village - All views: 807 sq. ft.

jmho, I'd go for extra points for 1 bedroom at Kidani. Kidani villas are larger than Jambo's but most importantly as pp DeeCee said you will have extra full bathroom off living room area in Kidani 1 bedroom and will also have pullout sleeper chair which will sleep 1 person in living room in addition to pullout sofa which can sleep 2.
Value 1 bedroom at Jambo does not have sleeper chair or extra bathroom.
Standard 1 bedroom at Jambo does not have extra bathroom but it will have sleeper chair.

The kids may enjoy the convenience of Kidani for it's pool / water feature playground & kids activities at community hall. Also, there is sports courts ( shuffleboard & basketball iirc ) and covered pavillion with bbqs & tables located near Kidani.

For value 1BR/other Jambo 1BRs/Kidani 1BR, the room sizes are 629/710/805 sq ft. Those are significant differences. The Kidani 1BR has 2 bathrooms. The value sleeps only 4 (plus a child in a crib under 3); the value does not have the fold out sleeper chair that the others have. You apparently have 5 total although you do not state ages of kids. Regardless it is a tight fit but certainly possible. With value you have a 40% chance of getting savanna view, 40% chance pool view, and the rest parking lot. With a standard Jambo room you are guaranteed pool view because all standards face the pool. With Kidani standard you can get road/parking lot or pool view. (With value at Jambo and Kidani standard you can request particular view but it is not guaranteed).

Jambo assures close proximity to a cafeteria style restaurant (Mara) and buffet restaurant (Boma). Kidani has only a table service restaurant (Sanaa, Kidani also has one, Jiko) although you can still walk to Jambo (about 10 minutes). Kidani has the new pool (smaller than Jambo but with better slide; Jambo still is very nice and provides far more shaded areas) and the kids recreation area. You can use those facilities at both resort regardless of which building you are staying in but generally you should likely assume you are not going to be anxious to do the trip over to the other resort just to use the pool or recreation area.

I stayed in a one bedroom standard view at Jambo with DH and our two girls. Loved it! We had a pool view room, and we were able to get to the pool and Mara (QS) quickly. It's kind of far from the front door, but it's so convenient to everything else. And the view wasn't bad at all. Very pretty, actually.

That's exactly what we are hoping for. Thanks for taking the time to post. I think we will love it. Just so hard for us to try something 'new', but I think we will lovw it!:goodvibes
