AKL evening activities

Hello -

This is my first post (actually my second attempt at it, my first one seems to have disappeared). Just wanted to thank everyone on these boards for sharing their Disney expertise! I searched for answers to every question I could think of (and many I hadn't!), but needed clarification on a couple things.

We're staying on-site for one night at AKL October 23. At this point, that seems to be the only date for Spectro the week we're there, which we've never seen and wanted to get to. I figured we'd miss the AKL storytelling, but wondered if the night vision viewing runs late enough to catch that? Does anyone know if it runs later on Saturdays?

We'll be off-site the rest of the week, and are still considering Boma (not sure about the very picky DH and 5 yr. old DS). Do you need to have a PS there in order to be allowed into AKL? If only eating there, can you watch the storytelling and night vision viewing?

We have been able to stay for the story-telling and view the animals after dinner at Boma. We did have a PS for our dinner but came in to AKL through the internal bus system. I have heard they are sticky about letting people in just to wander around if you drive in with your own car. I'm not sure if this still holds true.

My two dd's (6 and 9) loved the story teller and the lesson she taught! I'll have to admit it was very intriguing...they still remind us of the story they heard, it left quite an impression on them.

By the way-Boma's is awesome! I think there's something there for everyone, even picky eaters. The kids' buffet has traditional food which both of my kids enjoyed. Spaghetti, Mac n Cheese, Chicken fingers, etc. Have fun and Welcome to The Dis!

I'm remembering the Night Vision goggles were available something like 9-11 pm. BUT, if you have a video camera with night vision on it (and many do) it is exactly the same thing. You can do it yourself and even tape if you like !

Thanks for the quick responses! I had never thought about the camcorder, guess I'll have to finally read the instruction manual to see if we have that.

And you've both convinced me Boma's is the way to go - DS would like to eat spaghetti every day, and I can send DH to the chicken fingers if he complains too much about "different" food.
