I have nothing against DVC owners.
But - at WL, the pool is very over crowded for the size of the resort. With the DVC units added, the pool is now unbearable to swim in.

Y/BC - SAB is very popular in itself - but now also with the DVC units - even more people are camped out at SAB all day.

With the new DVC's being buildt at AKL - will the AKL pool now become over crowded ?

What do you think ?
.
We need the bunk beds (we will pay for them) - and DH likes a closet with doors :goodvibes
I would like our family to stay at AKL in 2008 - our next adventure in WDW

The number of villas at the WL is fairly small, and they did add another pool (I do think the main pool at the WL is too small for the number of rooms in the main building - it does get busy).

I believe the Villas will be getting a pool, a restaurant, etc. So I wouldn't expect a big change in the main poo (hopefully any Villas pool will be nice and large!)

I would expect less crowding at the AK pool once the villas are complete.

The villas in the original building will most likely produce fewer guests. I know that when my family books a 2 BR unit, there are only 4 of us sleeping in it. A 2BR will occupy the same space as three current rooms. Many of us who are DVCers do it for the space.

And as nbodyhome said, there will be an activity pool for the new building. I would think that the vast majority of people staying in that area would use that pool rather than make a long trek to a pool with less features.

I don't think you have to worry about the existing pool becoming over crowded.
Uzima Pool
Enjoy Uzima, our feature zero-depth entry pool. Uzima means "clear water," and there's plenty of it to enjoy, along with a 67-foot-long water slide.

Scheduled to open early 2009 at Kidani Village:

Samawati Springs Pool:
Cool off in this zero-entry pool that features a 128-ft. long water slide. Take relaxation to a whole new level in one of the two whirlpool spas near the pool.

Uwanja Camp:
Climb elevated-rope bridges, dash through geyser jets, or relax in the waterfall lagoon or beneath the shade of the camp cabanas in this village playground themed as an animal observation site known as Uwanja Camp — uwanja means "play area." Explore three distinct zones in this children's interactive water-play area — the base camp, the departure zone and the observation station; each area has its own character and activities for age-specific groups.

Sounds like the DVC Members will have enough to keep them happy.

It sounds like everyone is going to want to go to the Villas pool, so that might be the crowded one. :)

okay SAB is far less crowded - because Disney closed the pool off to only BC/YC/BCV guests.

WL is crowded lots of time because Disney so far has refused to kick the FW guests out.

so don't blame DVCers for the pool problems....please!

the DVC units are bigger than regular rooms. So possible less people in the pool.

Now I would expect to see DVC members in the gift shops. We do crazy over OUR resort....:rolleyes1

no flames against DVC'ers

Wow - I even got our dates wrong - next trip 2009 - June

And more pools :beach: !!!!
