I've booked two nights at AKL savannah view for two nights, Thinking about upgrading to concierge . When we ahve stayed at the Dolphin on the Club level they were great I asked for a tray and they provided me a nice room service tray and I was able to make one trip and get Juice, coffee, muffins, cereal, milk fruit etc. for the family while they got ready in the morning and again in the evening. With two small ones this made it very nice and somewaht worth the extra money. Has anyone done this? Do they have trays? should I bring my own? I booked at $166 on a pin code I didn't check to see what the difference was, I booked two rooms can I upgrade one room and not the other? Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

We have stayed at most of the deluxe disney hotels in concierge and I can honestly say that the AKL concierge was the best. You will truly love the service and ammenities. One thing to keep in mind is that if you want a concierge savannah room the walk from the rooms to the lounge on the 6th floor is quite lengthy. The food offerings are truly wonderful and the kids have their own choices as well. If you got a $169 price it will be a huge difference in room rates, I think. Don't know when you are going but concierge can go as high as $450 a night. We got a great rate once for $298, but that was two years ago. If you do book concierge make sure you check out the sunrise safari. It is amazing. Have a great trip!

Lookingforward is right about the concierge. We love it :) I really enjoy going to the lounge in the middle of the afternoon and having some tea. It's a nice place to relax outside of your room. How many are in your family? Instead of getting two rooms would you fit in a deluxe room? We needed to get a deluxe room and we figured it was worth the money to upgrade to concierge. It is a big increase from a regular SV room. We are paying $470 including tax during peak season.

With your pin code, we were quoted $375 for conceirge at AKL, std. savannah room for our May trip. We thought the $200 per night difference was not worth it this time. So we booked $166 savannah room as well. $400 savings is a lot for a two day stay.

If I were to try concierge again (we've done BC and WL besides AKL) I would love to try the GF main building.

I hate to say this, but I splurged a lot for my birthday in AKL concierge, and maybe my expectations were too high, I don't know, but I was really disappointed. We were checked out early (we came back from the pool and our door was locked--someone from concierge came down and explained there'd been some glitch and we were checked out early by mistake). After that, because we were checked out, we did not get housekeeping or turndown service for the day (I called too late for turndown service when it never seemed to come) because we were off the schedule. We went to the sunrise safari and our reservations weren't there. I had a confirmation number so they were able to fit us in. When we checked out we were overcharged for the sunrise safari (two visits...). It was one thing after another. I did love the lounge and the African smoothies, but there was never any mention of the birthday (not that I expected a party, LOL, but it was never mentioned at all) and I preferred the food offerings at the WL concierge. It may have been a weird run of events (probably was) but all of our stays in pool view/ savannah view were basically perfect, so I would do that again instead of concierge. The food at the Mara is awesome and Jiko is a great experience as well.

If I were to try concierge again (we've done BC and WL besides AKL) I would love to try the GF main building.
