We're are doing a short stay in April before getting on the Magic. We just got back from the World - BWV is our home base - a family in the lobby told us about AKL Concierge level -- wondering if anyone has tried it. Since we are only there a couple of days, I wanted to try something other that BWV or BC (our usual spots). I'm also considering Bay Lake - 1. b/c its proximity to MK; and 2. never stayed there - I have visited and looked at the rooms during a DVC presentation. It's beautiful but I'm not in love with it. Either way, any suggestions would be helpful - we are famiy of 5 and usual get the 1 BR (yes, I know BLT has 2 bathrooms!). Thanks :)

I would suggest trying to get the AKV Concierge 1BR --- if it happens to be available for your dates then grab it! As others have said it is tough to get a CL reservation because there are so few villas in the category. Anything is possible. We stayed in a 1BR Concierge villa at AKV last summer. We booked it the day our 11 month window opened. We really enjoyed our stay, the daily Mousekeeping, the lounge. I'd suggest trying the Sunrise Safari if you stay there.

During that same trip (last summer) we also stayed in a BLT 1BR. You cannot go wrong with either resort. The location is fantastic and the extra bathroom is such a plus! It was nice taking the monorail over to EPCOT as well. BLT will be much easier to get so try for Concierge knowing that your back-up resort is great as well......good luck :goodvibes!

thanks everyone --- I'm guessing without having that 11 month window since I own at BWV and BC that in a few weeks when I'm 7 months out, I won't have a chance at a 1BR CL AKL - but maybe BLT - might be a bit easier but I don't want to rack up points on a MK view - which will probably be the only rooms available. One day I'll get to both places come you know what. They both sound lovely though. I just thought there is a built in savings when you stay concierge since you have food / beverages available to you. That's a plus when you're dropping lots of Disney dollars on the Magic. :wizard:

At BLT the Standard views and MK views tend to be booked first. Lakeviews are the majority of the rooms and is the category that would be most likely to have any openings.

Good luck to you and do ask about AKV concierge. You never know!
