AKL Concierge - Unhappy with view??

I'm really quite concerned about staying concierge and not having a savannah view. Has anyone encountered a problem getting a savannah view in concierge?

CRO noted my request and said I shouldn't have a problem since I need a non-smoking room. Apparently most of the concierge rooms that are not savannah are smoking optional.

Can anyone offer a comment on this?

I do know that they don't guarantee savannah views. I also know that when I asked about smoking rooms, they told me to request a non-smoking room, smoke on the balcony, and you are pretty much assured of a savannah view.

We had a nice view of the Sunset savannah, I was worried that the sixth floor would be to high to get a real nice view, but that was no problem at all.

There are only 6 concierge rooms that are pool view. According to the AKL concierge ‘itinerary planner’ I talked to, these are ‘smoking optional’. [I shudder to imagine a ‘smoking mandatory’ room.]

Last December, we waited until checking in to upgrade to concierge because of the pool view concerns. We couldn’t even get on the SS waitlist – or make use of the pre-trip itinerary planning. This year, we booked concierge right off.
