AKL Concierge Service on Third Floor Would be Nice

I know that the concierge rooms are on the 5th and 6th floors. But I really wish it was offered on the lower floors. I would love to have a second or third floor room to get up close and personal with the animals. Although I have to say, the one time we stayed at the AKL, we were on the 5th floor and we had great views of the animals. Anyway, it would be nice if they had a third floor option for concierge.

YEs, I have heard that the view is nicer from the 3rd floor--so much closer. I also wish you could "guarantee" that you would even have a savannah view AND concierge, no matter what the floor! I think they could have planned this better TBH, and/or re-think this and sell 3rd floor savannah as concierge--or at least have it as an option (for purchase of course!). This is what has kept us from staying at AKL already.

One of these times we are going to stay in a suite just for this reason. (hopefully on a lower floor) Of course, it's also a matter of tearing us away from our beloved Poly, lol.

I supposed you could book concierge and request a 3rd floor room if that is what you really wanted.

We are booked for AKL CL next april before our magic cruise-do you mean i won't be getting a savannah view? That really stinks if that's the case;I could have just booked the savannah view. We wanted the savannah view with the perks and the sunrise safari....Maybe I should switch back to the POLY LVC at least I know that I'll be able to see the castle. LOL Angel

.....yes, you DO get a savannah view, but you might not necessarily get a deluxe room (with the 5th person option).....

Actually you aren't guaranteed a savanna view in Concierge, but - in years of reading trip reports I have only ever seen one person get poolview when they wanted savanna, so I wouldn't worry about it.

1) Sounds good, but not totally valid.
2) MANY people on Club Floor want Savanna view.
3) But about half of them are disappointed about extra cost and not a view.
4) You just don't hear much of them.

NOTE: Sounds untrue? If half the rooms face one way and half the rooms face the other way, it stands to reason that half don't get the Savanna view. Now, if you paid Club Floor rates, wouldn't you want to see animals?

There is only a handful of rooms up there and half of them are designated smoking. The occupants that specifically request smoking understand they are pool view.

The one review I read where someone wanted Savanna and received pool view - wasn't even on 6. They were put in a poolview on 5 with concierge access, thats how full the resort was.

yeah, I noticed that I haven't seen people complaining about not getting savannah view in CL, but if it's not "guaranteed" (available for purchase) it's not a sure thing, is it? I mean, why not sell/tell you on the phone that smoking rooms are pool view, non-smoking are savannah? What happens when/if AKL goes all non-smoking? Also, isn't non-smoking simply a request that is not guaranteed except for medical reasons? I know I have been put in smoking optional rooms at the Poly on the third floor once or twice (not a problem, the rooms smelled fine, thankfully!)

Anyway, not trying to be difficult, lol...but I want to know for sure what I am going to get--dd would be absolutely inconsolable if we did not get savannah view (heh, me too!) so I have not wanted to risk it unless they could sell me/assure me that my room would be savannah view. Anyway, it's been awhile since I tried to reserve AKL CL, the last several times I tried to book AKL I was trying to book an AKL CL suite, which all have savannah views.
(edited to add, I've tried to book them numerous times, but we are never able to get the safari so we cancel the suite--every time I say "next time" we will stay there! LOL)

Yes, you can. We did just that (except we had a second floor room). It was incredible!!! When we checked in we asked for a very specific area and they were able to give it to us with no problem.
