AKL Concierge Room Locations

Our family is staying at the AKL Concierge in April and we were wondering where the concierge rooms are located at the resort. I've seen information saying the 5th and 6th floor but no indication where with regard to the different trails.

This is our first trip in about 12 years to Disney so we are very excited to bring our two daughters 7 and 4 and my parents.

Any information would be appreciated.

The rooms on the 6th floor are smoking optional, and do not have savannah views. They are exclusively available for concierge guests. The rooms on the 5th floor are not all concierge, and the concierge rooms have views of all three savannahs, although most overlook the Arushka Rock area. There are suites at the very end of the halls on all floors which are also considered concierge rooms.

We just returned from AKL Concierge. We were on the 5th floor, room #5419 overlooking The Arushka Rock Savanna Area. A great room with bunkbeds and always lots of animals in view.

We loved this location, it was around the corner from the main elevator that takes you to the 6th floor concierge lounge, the main lobby, and the 1st floor restaurant and pool area. There also was another elevator down the hall that did not go to the 6th floor but was convenient if you needed to do laundry. It took you to the 1st floor laundry area and the back side of the pool.

Hi there,
We are staying AKL Concierge in April too. Do the rooms with a Queen and bunkbeds also have a daybed?
When making a request for rooms is it best to request 5th floor arushna savannah view?
We are looking forward to staying at the AKL, we switched from the Polynesian concierge because the quiet pool may still be under Refurb. This is going to be a hang by the pool vacation.

has anyone stayed in a suite? Is there a sleeper sofa in a 1 bd? Wishing to get a peek at one when there concierge for our 10th, but will have our 5 yr old with us so who knows... would olove to hear more about concierge service ... beyond what the books say...

We were there in November.

Had 6th floor, Sunset Savannah. The pool room side on 6th floor I believe is smoking optional. One 6th floor, savannah rooms are non-smoking. It's not a real pretty savannah because of a dirt road that runs between the hotel and the savannah greenery. But we did see the giraffs, cattle, ostrich at different times.

We didn't really spend alot of time looking out the window but we did spend time in the lounge and for us, it was worthwhile to be close to it. In fact they first gave us a 5th floor room that probably has a great savannah view but I had us moved up to the 6th floor.

We loved the lounge!

We have really enjoyed our last 2 stays at the AKL concierge (on our honeymoon in September and just recently in January for a birthday suprise trip.) Both times we were on the Savannah facing side of the 5th floor. In September it was a king-bed with day bed, in January it was a 'standard' 2 double beds room.

the CM's that work concierge are amazing. From a speedy check-in to them remembering your name every time you hit the lounge - it's just so completely relaxing.

My hubby worked out all the PS's with concierge while we were down there - we were able to get some as late as 1 hour prior!

We've also been fortunate to take both the Sunrise AND Sunset safaris through the concierge - both I HIGHLY reccommend. They can be hard to obtain - so call as early as you possibly can!

And really - the cappuccino machine alone is worth going back for! hehehe. Love the south african wines they had out, and the dishes/appetizers they had from Jiko/Boma were amazing as well.

Oh - and if you are celebrating a birthday down there - mention it to them. They left the cutest birthday cake in our room on my birthday...complete with party hats, a candle, and streamers. Made this 'big princess' feel special.

My hubby totally spoiled me by taking me here on our honeymoon AND on my birthday...we're totally been bitten by the AKL concierge bug...I think he's planning another trip back for us in the fall!
