AKL concierge ressies/AKV

We're going back June 9 2007 - the first half of our stay is at AKL concierge then on to BCV for the 2nd half.

I'm wondering now - with the AKV announcement of taking over 134 rooms at AKL concierge - how this will affect our stay there.

Anyone have any ideas????

It is a little too early to tell how this will effect existing ressies. I would imagine there will still be some concierge level rooms, even after all the DVC work is completed.

But you won't be able to use points at AKL anymore after they open the villas. Just like at BWI, BC and WL.

I have a concierge room reserved for 12/1/07 (using cash). I'm not expecting any effect on that reservation from the DVC plans.

hi there,

I just booked my honeymoon at GF concierge yesterday. I had inquired about AKL first but was told as of 11-30-07 , they will not be accepting any more DVC point reservations. I would advise you to call member services and verify this information. As my honeymoon starts on Dec 10 , I was shut out of any possibility of using my points for AKL concierge. but from the timing of your reservation - it doesn't look like there would be any problem. I would call just to make sure....

We have 2 nights reserved at AKL concierge for 8/19-8/21. We made our reservations on 10/28/06.

We have a concierge AKL room booked for the first weekend in August, 2007. I was told when I made the reservation in November, 2006 that at "some time" during 2007 the concierge rooms would be relocated to other areas of the hotel and the lounge would be relocated to the 4th floor. No one seemed to have any idea when in 2007 this move would occur, or where the new concierge rooms would be located. I just figured in our case it was only for 2 nights so we would just try it and hope for the best.
