Help! We will be staying at akl concierge Sept 7-Sept 13 and this is our very first concierge experience. To all you concierge experts out there what recommendations do you have to maximize our trip of a lifetime? We will only be visiting animal kingdom and maybe epcot so will be spending a lot of time at the resort.
Looking back on your previous trips staying with concierge, is there anything you would have done differently "if you'd known...."?
Also is anyone familiar with the view from a handicapped room on the 6th floor overlooking sunset savannah? And perhaps how far it is to the lounge from this room (we requested handicapped room close to lounge)?
Thank you all so much for your help, any tips/trip reports/photos would be terrific.

We stayed one night in July and fell in love with this place. I think if you are doing concierge it is a great idea to have a lot of resort time. We have 3 young kids and we pretty much stayed at the resort from when we checked in at 9:30am- check out at 11:00am the next day (we only left to go to DD to pick up some bday presents). Between the activities the resort offers and the different food offerings we had enough to do. We had a great time relaxing at the pool all day:D
The only thing I would have done different was stay there longer. We will be splitting our stay between a the Polynesian and the AKL next yr and we will stay at least 3 nights:D
I don't know what the view from the 6th floor Sunset Savannah is. The CM who checked us in told us those views aren't very good because of the thatch. I went to the Sunset overlook and I didn't really care for that Savannah. It seemed a little bare for me. I hear if you are into birds it's a great Savannah. You are right next to the lounge when you are in a 6th floor room. I wanted to be close to the lounge and by the pool so we got a room on the 5th floor. It was the first room past the suite on the Zebra Trail looking at the Arusha Savannah. I didn't want to do alot of walking with the kids. I loved this location. The elevator is close by and the walk to the pool was down the hall and an elevator ride down.
Here is my trip report with our AKL stay AKL Trip Report
Have a great time. Every CM we encountered was great:D

We stayed for 2 nights in August and like mirlow we loved the hotel!! We did not leave nor did we keep the PS's for the restaurants we had for dinner. I know the offerings put out by concierge are not supposed to replace lunch or dinner, but for us girls (45, 14, 14, and 11) keeping our PS's would have been a waste. I believe you will enjoy the 6th floor and it's view, it is a smaller savanah but interesting none the less. We'll be back again in Oct. and are considering staying 2 nights again. I hope you have a great time.

We just stayed for four nights at AKL concierge in June. One of the things we would highly recommend is doing the Sunrise Safari. There is an added cost for doing this, but we felt it was well worth it. I think it is only offered on Tuesday and Saturday mornings.
