Because I just realized we have a few points that will expire if not used by 11/30/06 I was thinking of going to AKL concierge for 2 nights. We already have a BWV trip booked for 11/3 to 11/14. I have not stayed at a WDW resort since joining DVC and never at a concierge level. I don't know if I can request a view since I will be using points. Any advice is appreciated.

When I booked the Contemporary on points the said the only request I could make was non-smoking. So I don't think they would let you. But you never know.

Concierge rooms at AKL are either pool or animal view rooms on the top two floors. You get a key card for access to the concierge level for the food :teeth: You will absolutely love this! You have juice, coffee, cakes, donuts, cereal, etc. from 7-10, then 11-3 they have finger sandwiches, fruit, pop, etc. available. 3-5 is oerdurves, 5-7 was tiny finger desserts, and 7-10 is evening cordials! I stayed in there all day! :teeth: It was such fun for two days! At the concierge desk they will actually do all your dinner ressies for your whole trip, even when you aren't in concierge! And don't forget to ask about the sunrise safari, available ONLY to concierge guests(it does cost $$, but is well worth it). You do NOT get in line to check in, either(I did not know this). You go to the concierge desk downstairs, and they take you IMMEDIATELY to your room!! After you are relaxed and comfortable, amble up to the desk on the concierge level to check in :teeth: This is so cool! Talk about being pampered, you will wonder how you ever did without this! :wizard:

Did that a while back. Request a savannah view. Make sure you look into the sunrise and sunset safaris. And if it is just two of you, ask about the dinner for two on your verandah.

You will love the check-in procedure. Just tell them you are concierge guest when you pull up to the guard at the entrance.

I had some "reservation points" from a canceled cruise that I HAD to use at the WDW resorts, so I just made an AKL Concierge ressie last week. They let me make requests for non-smoking, savanah view and top-floor..... without any problems at all. Now we'll see if I really get them all.

I just booked 2 nights Concierge level. I requested non smoking. When I asked about views MS told me all concierge were on higher flloors and overlooked the savannah? I'm looking forward to the experience.

I don't think that is accurate. I am almost positive there are "pool view" concierge rooms. They do put all the concierge folks on the top two floors, but only the top floor is essentially locked off and concierge ONLY. That is also the location of the concierge lounge.

Also if you are looking into staying at AKL in concierge, try a sunrise or sunset safari if you can. These are a little pricey but only open to concierge guests

My parents and I are going to stay at AKL concierge level this August. We're DVC members and also had a ton of points left over that will be left unused, so we decided to pamper ourselves.

The Concierge rooms are located either over the Savannah or the pool. (You can make your own request.) You should check out the great Jambo AKL thread that is in the Resort section. There is so much information there. The Concierge rooms are located on the 4th and 5th (top floor) of the lodge. The fifth floor is where the concierge lounge is located.

We have never stayed at AKL before, but we ate dinner at Boma during our Dec trip. It was gorgeous! :) After falling in love with it, we decided to stay there for a week this summer. We plan to lounge by the pool, read books on the balcony, and every so often go into the parks when we feel like it. I can't wait! We also booked the Sunrise Safari. Right after we booked our room, concierge got in touch with us and also booked for us to see Cirque de Soleil. They staff are very helpful.

I just received my letter confirming Concierge Level. The special request section lists non smoking, reservation points info and a notation that "Your club level room has been confirmed". What does that mean? No view is listed. Should I call back and request a Savannah view?
TIA

We also used our points for a AKLC stay, we had a few days after a cruise and wanted to do the safari. We did the Sunrise and thouroghly enjoyed it. I think all concierge rooms at Al are savannah view.

My Dh and i stayed at the AKL conceirge level also
He got so spoiled.
He wants to go back again.
It is lovely staying there.

Yes. The concierge rooms have one of two views--pool or savannah. If you want savannah definitely request it.
