We are staying at the AKL in May 2016. I was surprised that the Arusha views are already sold out for early May! That's a non-peak time and we are eight months away.

The other surprising thing I found is that the Club Level Room with an Arusha view - which is available - is only $65 more expensive than a standard Savanna room. So, for $65, you get access to the Club Lounge and an Arusha view. What am I missing? This seems like an unusually good deal.

Club Level at AKL is wonderful. And, yes, you get that Arusha Savanna view from a 4th floor room if you book CL.

It is possible that those rooms haven't been released into inventory yet. Give Disney a call to confirm.

Could be that, or it also could be the glitchy Disney website. It's been unreliable the last couple of days for me.

I thought the same thing. I called and at first the agent told me that it was probably a glitch with the website. Then he came back on and said they were sold out. But I didn't have a lot of confidence.

I was just looking at the same rooms, but we are a family of 5. That makes the jump to a 1 BR Suite and the price doubles from the Club Level Standard. I don't think we will do the Villas, so I guess we are staying at the Poly instead of a split stay.

That's not too bad of a price increase for CL and a view. I'd go for it. We stayed club level at AKL 3 years ago. We liked it but without the Savannah view it's not worth it.

Yep, that's why we ended up CL at AKL too. Just too good a bargain to not spring for the extra cost.
I think the reason they have it such a small difference is the lounge is on a different floor. They reduce the prince increase compared to other resorts to off set the inconvenience. I was slightly worried about it but we didn't find it to be an issue in the end. We were almost always on our way in or out as we went by the lounge so it was just a matter of taking the elevator up, eating and then down to head out to the rest of our plans.

I suspect that they would have a difficult time getting any more for these rooms. So, they are a good deal if Arusha view is sold out.

We weren't wowed by AKL CL but lots of people seem to like it.

The only reason we did it was to do the Sunrise Safari. Otherwise the price increase is questionable.

We LOVED it. I booked it in 2013 for 2 reasons. First, we wanted to do the Sunrise Safari (which sadly is no longer offered) and because of the very reason noted above. For the small price difference, we would have breakfast and snacks during the day. My hubby appreciated a cold beer now and then too. IMO, if you are staying Savannah View anyway, this is totally worth it for the "upgrade"! We are staying again in December. Hope you enjoy your stay!
