I have booked a one-night reservation for Animal Kingdom Lodge Standard Room - Club Level, $264.38 with tax for three adults using the 40% off room-only code. I thought it was a great rate!
We also have, for the same night, a room booked at a Universal resort, and the price isn't much less. Now we have to decide which one we'll be using!
The draw of the Universal resort is the Express Pass for their theme park rides, which is their version of Fast Pass and available to all resort guests at no charge. (General public must purchase this option, and it's more limited than for resort guests).
The draw of AKL is, well, it's AKL!!! And I've always wanted to stay there. If we choose AKL we'll not be doing Universal those days. We will also not be doing any WDW parks. So I'm trying to gather itinerary ideas to loosely plan a day there so we can compare it with the Universal option.
Can someone point me to a page with AKL activities for adults? Or maybe give us a quick suggested itinerary for 24 hours at AKL? The safaris offered for CL guests are attractive, but we won't have park tickets. Would like to take advantage of the included food & drink in the CL lounge as much as possible, too.
I"m definitely more excited about the possibility of the AKL vs. Universal, but we are traveling with a friend and want to give her an idea of what we can do that day instead of the Harry Potter parks. Thanks!!
