We just booked AKL Club Level for our vacation for next year. Now I called in the beginning of January just to double check on some things, since I knew I couldn't book yet, and was told that I'd have to put down one night's stay at the 2008 price and then would be contacted (phone, email, or mail) when the 2009 rates were out to pay the difference. The guy told me it would be $390, $430-something after the taxes and such (regular season).
Well when I called and actually made the reservation the person told me the total price based on an unguaranteed rate and that the one night deposit was $585. He said the 2009 rates come out around August and it could be more or could be less than the $585. Now that's a HUGE jump in price... like $150 difference. I don't remember what the 2007 rates were but I didn't think there was a huge jump in price like that between 2007 and 2008. I mean I was expecting it to be more in 2009, like maybe $50 more, but not $150.
Has anyone booked for the next year before those prices came out and found that they overestimated in the rates? We've had our hearts set on Club Level and weren't niave enough to think it'd be the same price, but like I said, $150 is a BIG difference.
