AKL but no AK?

Hi!

I'm thinking of booking two nights at AKL prior to a cruise next year. I'm wondering if there is enough at AKL to occupy us for the one full day we will be there or do you think we should visit the park? We will have three adults and my DS3 in our group.

We are going down to WDW this October and will go to AK then. We love AK, but wouldn't mind saving the ticket money if there is enough to do at the resort!

If you like to swim you have plenty to do. We could spend several days at AKL and not visit the parks. Check out all the animal viewing areas including the ones at Kidani don't forget to ask the CM on duty any questions you have. Kidani has a great water play area the three year old with love. The nite time story telling around the fire pit is fun. They have a list of activities they will give you at check in. On day at Mara DD got their face painted traditional african style.

Check out the restaurants.

You can always go check out DTD for an afternoon. From DTD you can also take a boat ride to POR or OKW just for the heck of it.

You can definitely find enough to do to occupy a day there! Check out the calendar upon check in and see what activities they have planned for the day. They have different crafts and such every day plus lots of other interesting activities.

Thank you so much! I didn't even think of DTD. What a great idea! I definitely want to try all of the restaurants! I think we'll give it a shot. I'm sure if we get there and change our minds they will be happy to take our $$ and let us into AK!

We often spend several full days just relaxing around the resort. Since it is mostly adults, and your child is so young, there's no problem keeping everyone occupied. You could also head over to the Boardwalk for some evening's entertainment.

Spending time at the pool, viewing the animals, taking photos!, shopping, having a drink at Victoria Falls, dinner at Jiko, more time at the pool. I can't think of anything more relaxing!
