AKL buses

Hi! I just wanted to know if the AKL buses are the only bus on the route or do they stop at other resorts? Does the bus to MK drop you off at the entrance or at the TTC? How long does it take to get to MK from AKL?

If anyone has ever stayed at AKL and used the buses, please let me know. If you have any any other helpful tips, that would be great!!

My understanding is that the AKL buses run exclusively to AKL and do not stop at other hotels. All of the resort buses drop you off at the drop off area for the parks, unless you are going into the TTC to go somewhere else.

With very little exception, AK Lodge goes directly to the theme park entrance... and then back directly to AK Lodge. The only exceptions are for Disney/MGM Studios, there is a stop at Blizzard Beach. The other exception is with Epcot. After 6pm, AK Lodge gets combined with AK Park. After 10:15pm at Epcot, the AK Lodge bus gets combined with AK Park, and the All-Stars. (It's practically dead at this point... just stragglers)

On a side note, I very rarely see the AK Lodge busses get crowded. Only during extreme peak times (heavy park exit) does the AKL bus get close to crowded.

When you are at the park waiting for the bus, make sure it says AKL and not just AK too. Made that mistake once at Epcot and then had to walk around the drop off area and AK and wait for an AKL bus. Dumb, but easy mistake, esp. when the wait is long.

Thanks everyone for the great info! This is exactly what I wanted to know! I will be renting a car, but it's sounds like my best bet is to take the bus to MK instead of driving! I think I might also take it AK so I can relax from driving another day.

Good choices. Driving from AK Lodge to AK Park is kinda silly, since it's right next door. The bus ride is like two minutes... And as for MK, by taking the bus, you avoid the TTC which would add a lot of travel time...
