Akl Bus Transportation ??

My family will be staying at AKL June 2005. Has anyone used the bus service to Magic Kingdom before?

I would love to know how it works to and from MK park, or should we rent a car during or stay?

I guess i just really wanted to know if the buses are easy to take at AKL?

Although we have not stayed at the AKL there have been many positive posts about their bus transportation. Since they do not share with other resorts it should be pretty quick and reliable. I'm sure others will have more detailed info.

AKL bus transport is great! You are the only resort stop, and we almost never had to wait more than 10 mins. Even late evening, returning after MNSSHP, we and one other family were whisked off straight to AKL. The only times you might have wanted a car, IMO, would have been a grocery run, and maybe inter-resort transportation (if you wanted to dine at the Boardwalk or something) or Downtown Disney.

Of course on the subject of dining, in our week at AKL last year, we had dinner at one fo the AKL restaurants 4 times (Boma once, bought from Mara and ate by the pool, bought light supper from Mara and took back to the room, and an enchanting evening at Jiko, which is now our fav' restaurant.

The buses at AKL are great! I've found them to be very prompt and I like that they're not shared with other resorts. The ride to MK is about 15-20 minutes and the bus will drop you off near the entrance. If you drove to MK, you would end up parking near the TTC and then taking the ferry or monorail to the entrance.
