AKL Bus Transportation

Were thinking of staying there this August and we always use Disney transportation. Just wondering what the Bus situation is like....

Does AKL share buses with any other location?

How do you find the buses at AKL on time, already full? etc, etc,

AKL (Jambo House) and AKV (Kidani Village) share a bus route. Park buses will stop at Kidani first and then go to Jambo House. Downtown Disney buses will stop at Jambo House first and then Kidani Village.

If you are at Kidani you will have no problem with getting a seat, but during busy times they do "pack them in" when the buses get to Jambo and not everyone fits sometimes.

Thanks! I take it they don't provide more buses than other resorts who don't have to share, correct?

We've never had a problem with the buses. We found them to run on time and to come frequently. The only time that we had trouble with them being too full was when they had multiple scooters to accomodate. They had to put up rows of seats and therefore not as many passengers could be seated. We had to wait for the next bus that arrived within the next 15 minutes or so.

The vast majority of resorts either share a route with other resorts (these resorts have only one bus stop per park at their resort) or the resort will have mulitiple stops within the resort.....CSR, CBR, POR/FQ. The only resort that offers bus service that heads directly to the park after you board, is POP. They do not share with any other resort, nor does the bus make any other stops around the resort. There is one stop, you get on, and you go directly to the park.

Each resort has sufficient bus service. Now, if you walk up to the bus stop, just as the bus to DHS is pulling away, and that's the bus you wanted, then you are probably not going to think your resort has provided enough buses since you may be facing a 20 min wait for the next DHS bus. But, at peak times, they do tend to run more frequent buses.
