AKL Bus stop question

Is it easier to get to the bus stop from the fron lobby or from inside through the side entrance? Thank you.

I agree with this. Cutting through the store does not result in much advantage in time or steps walked.

I agree, since our room was right down that hallway next to the Marketplace. So we would cut through the store, exit, and the hallway would be there to our right.

It was fun to browse too, of course. And yes, getting back in the AC that much more quickly was a real plus.

Toss up. Going out, I'd go through lobby. You never know when you're going to get ailse blockers - esp if you have a stroller in your group. Returning, it may be better to cut through makret if you are dying to get in to AC or heat sooner. On the other hand, I think you also run a risk upon returning of getting stuck behind someone in the gift shop. It may happen going through lobby that you get stuck behind someone with luggage, but you have more opportunity to go around them.

I would cut through the Zawadi Marketplace. It probably won't save you much time but you can avoid walking through the smokers depot. Nothing against smokers, I have smoked in the past, I just can't handle the smell and neither can my children or husband. Enjoy the lobby when you come back in the afternoon for a rest or in the evenings. When you are on the way to catch a bus cut through if you mind smoke. Animal Kingdom Lodge is absolutely beautiful and easily navigated....ENJOY!

Someone reported last month that the AKL has moved the smoking area that was between the lobby entrance and the bus stop. There shouldn't be any problems now with smoke going to and from the bus stop.

It is true that they have moved the smokers pit to somewhere else so you no longer need to go through the marketplace to avoid the smoke.

Oh this is good news. Even though we hardly use the bus, we hate smelling the smoke as we're entering through the main entrance.

I disagree, which is why I wrote what I did. I've stayed at AKL at least 10 times and if my room is down Giraffe Trail or if I am just hopping on the main elevator bank to get upstairs, then cutting through the shop and going directly to my room HAS often been quicker than walking to the main doors, especially if I'm behind people walking a lot more slowly than I walk or are in ECVs or pushing strollers.
