AKL bus service- is it really bad???

We had a great experience going to/from all the parks using buses when we stayed at AKL for a week in March 03.

Getting to DD we took a cab, after once trying the WDW bus route from AKL. In general, we now take cabs when going from resort to resort, as I do not like to have to transfer buses on vacation. I just want to get there already!

We were at AKL in June a couple years back and the bus service was great!!! No complaints at all....

My DH, DD, DSD and I stayed at AKL January 14-18th. For the most part the bus service was excellent. The only problem I had was on the 18th. I wanted a MK bus and had just missed one, as in saw it pulling out of the platform but was too far away to run and flag it down. I wasn't particularly upset since I figured another one would be there momentarily. It took 40 minutes for one to show up. However, that was an aberation and not the norm.

Glad to hear more positive posts on the AKL bus service. I'm going on Fri. to AKL and feel much better about it!

You're selectively reading posts if you believe bus service at AKL is bad. It is easily the best bus service (dedicated resort busses) and seldom will you have to stand.

As for location. It seems further away due to design and necessity, but look at a map...It isn't.

I searched in the resort forum for AKL and several threads discussed the bad service. I also read others that mentioned it was great. I wanted more specifics.
