Can anyone recommend a particularly good room that has the Queen & Bunk beds with a Savannah View? We will be there July 11-18th and have requested this type of room/view.

I have 2 sons, ages 8 & 3 and they can't wait to see the animals (especially giraffes) and check out the bunk beds...of course the 8 yr. old gets the top bunk!!!!!

Also...are all the balconies the same size? Is there furniture out there to sit out and enjoy?

Thanks!!!!

We stayed Concierge on the 5th floor and we overlooked the Arusha Savanna and we were right in the middle. Wonderful view and it had bunkbeds. Sorry I cant help with a room number but, thats where we stayed ant it was wonderful. Very peaceful resort!

Balconies are the same size, unless you are in one of the suites and there are 2 chairs and a small table out there.

we stayed in a savannah view room in 2001. Had a queen bed, bunk beds and a day bed.....very comfy. If you are interested in the giraffes, request to be in the giraffe section. BTW, my kids thought the coolest thing about the room was the phone in the bathroom!!!!!!

We stayed in a savannah view room on the Arusha savannah, Zebra Trail. We had a bunk bed room on the third floor (I think it was 3507) and had a great view of the savannah. The balcony had a table and 2 chairs. As a bonus, the room was near the elevators to go to Mara, the pool, and the all important video arcade. Have fun!

We had almost the same room as Snowysmom, we were in 2507 and it was perfect. I loved the 2nd floor because we were so close to the animals, it was like being right on the savannah with them. Also, as Snowysmom said, it was very close to the pool, food court, etc. and not far from the lobby/bus stops.

I'm interested in specific room numbers too. Anyone got any more to suggest?

I would not recommend asking for specific room numbers. I think it lowers your chances of getting the location you really want. If that specific room is not available, the CM will put you somewhere else where you may not be happy. It's best, IMO, to generally specifiy areas, trails, bunk beds, floors, etc.

We were on the 3rd floor (same as the lobby) not too far from the lobby. It was great. We could watch the people at the savannah lookout, the AKL keepers put feed close to the lookout so there were lots of animal around all the time. Being close to the lobby was convenient for food. If we exited the room and turned away from the lobby there were elevators to go down to the pool and the "fast-food" place. We had a queen and bunk beds, savannah view, with a table and two chairs on the balcony for animal watching. Be sure to bring binoculars for animal closeups!;)

I am interested in AKL for September. Do most of the rooms with Savannah view have bunk beds ? this or concierge is what we would like.:Pinkbounc

SOME of the rooms with Savannah view have bunkbeds. It's an options you have to request. We had to wait for a room since we definitely wanted bunkbeds. My DD & DS (10 & 8.5) will NOT sleep in the same bed together. No one will sleep with DS - he's kicker!
