We can book AKL at 11 mos. We will be 4 adults. Would like to go in 2015. Prefer not to go when it is too cold or too hot. Don't want to go when it is too crowded either.

So what time frame either before May or after August would you pick?

Thank you!

Do you care about attending any special events like Food & Wine, Flower & Garden, Star Wars Weekends, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, or Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party?

September is the lowest crowd season, but it is still hot. We always go at this time due to historically having free dining and the low crowds, but it is hot and you should expect a rain shower many days, which doesn't last long and clears out the parks even further. I hate the heat and I can tolerate it. I just bring a mini-misting fan. Late January and February are the second lowest. I have never been this time, but the weather is cooler by far. I have gone once in early November and absolutely loved the weather--shorts by day and a little cool at night. It's a bit more crowded, however, and I have come to love the low crowds more than the weather.

We are going to AKL Kidani for the first time this September. I hope you have a wonderful time when you go!

Never did food & wine, haven't thought about that. Have done all the others except Star Wars, but that isn't our thing.

Our favorite time at AKV is November time frame. We have been right after Halloween and right after Thanksgiving and both are good times, both for weather and crowds. If you go later in November (but NOT the week of Thanksgiving - crowded) the Christmas decorations are all up and it is very festive. We love the food and wine festival and went the end of October for it (good weather and crowds). DH and I went this year right after Thanksgiving and had a wonderful, adult only time. The Candlelight Processional, Osborne Lights, and all of the Holiday traditions storytellers (and Santa's) were very nice. Happy planning!

Late October is great, since it is warm enough all day to use the pools at AKV. Plus, you have F&WF and MNSSHP. The crowds are pretty tolerable, other than weekends at EPCOT due to F&WF.

Late April is another good time, for many of the same reasons, other than no F&WF or MNSSHP. You do have F&G at EPCOT during April. The Spring Break crowds seem to die down by the 3rd week of April.

We loved the first week of February given the low crowds and being able to walk on most rides, but it can be quite cool in the AM and evening.

Do not go to AKV in August. The bees are horrible and can't be controlled by pest spray. The bees are everywhere at the resort. It's something to do with AKV because that same time of year I didn't see one bee at BWV or BCV.

I've stayed at Jambo twice in early December. The weather was good, not too cold and definitely not hot. The animals were quite active.
I also visited Kidani once in mid September. It was hot, it was drizzling, and there hardly any animals on the savanna.

We were thinking of going to AKV in January for the last two weeks. We would spend a week there and a week at SSR. Do you think the animals will be out? :goodvibes

I'm waiting for the answer . . . I hope to book last week in January at 7 months!

The animals are out every day of the year - just a little more active when the weather is pleasant. They do go to the "hospital" every day in the morning for checkups and various treatments to keep them healthy. They are always out in the afternoon and evening.
