AKL - animals?? At dinner???

We are not staying at AKL but I am considering making a ps at one of the restaurants....what are the chances of seeing animals from viewing areas there at night?
Also is there any restaurant that offers a *savannah view*?

You can walk around before or after dinner to some of the many viewing areas and look. When we stayed at AKL the savannah was light with Disneymade moonlight. You could probably see some animals, but I think they are fairly quiet at night. The restaurants don't have views of the animals......

I don't know about Boma, but I know that Jiko doesn't overlook a Savannah. It overlooks the pool area. But it is a MAGNIFICENT view. Based on the way the restaurants are situated, I would guess that Boma has a similar view.

sometimes the animals are VERY active at night. Get there a little early - or stay a little late and go out on Arusha Rock. The only thing the rest. look out over is the pool area.
You will love checking out the lobby and Arusha Rock.

Evening feeding time for the animals is in the 5:00 - 5:30 range, I think. So if you make a 6:00 PS and arrive a little early, there should be a fair number of animals out and about.

Also, Boma is right next to Jiko and also does not overlook a savannah, but rather the pol area.

waiting for seating at Boma, we walked out on a viewing porch and saw giraffe, zebra, etc. you will definitely see animals while you wait. the buffet is fantastic!

You will not be able to see any animals from the resturants but you can walk about before or after the meals and sometimes the animals are active in the evenings.

Sorry neither restaurant has a view of the animals, but either before or after dinner you can usually see some animals at the outlooks and Arusha Rock. Also check with the CM's about storytelling at the Arusha Rock firepit (6:30pm - Spring 2003) and later in the evening the guides at Arusha Rock provide night vison gear.

I went ahead and made Boma reservations for 7:30...so we may arrive early and try to catch some animals.....
