AKL 6th Floor Views?

Morning All!

Trying to decide what to request for room assignment at AKL Concierge level. We leave in 16 days!

I thought I'd like the 6th floor since that is the lounge and we really enjoyed just zipping by lounge at YC on the way out or back to our rooms. But I wondered if views from these rooms are just not so good?

From my map study, it looks like the only savannah may be Sunset? It seemed from the pics that Sunset wasn't very pretty with the dirt bordering the building and the spot of green in the middle. Are there Savannash views that look out over Arusha?

Are the only pool views looking out over the roof tops of the restaurants?

If I decide to go with 5th floor to get a better view, is it going to be a pain to get to the lounge?

Sorry I can't help you with the views of the 6th floor rooms, but I can say getting to the concierge lounge from the 5th floor wasn't bad. We were in 5513 and the walk was worth it with all the yummies that the lounge had.

Yes, it's true that the savannah view rooms on the 6th floor only overlook the Sunset Savannah. Some of them are also partially obstructed by roof tops, so I'm guessing that the pool views will have a similiar problem. Also, the pool view rooms on the 6th floor are smoking optional, so keep that in mind if that is a problem. We were on the 5th floor, and were on a room about 2/3'rds of the way down the Kudu trail. It was a long walk to the concierge lounge, and next time we stay concierge at AKL, I will request a room on the 5th floor, but close to the elevators. It took us about 5 minutes or so, to traverse the 5th floor, and make our way to the stairs or elevator. Since we usually had a stroller, we usually were waiting for the elevator as well. The lounge at AKL is beautiful and I enjoyed concierge there and will do it again, but hopefully I won't be as far!!!

We were on the 5th floor and it was a hike to the lounge. But the view was GREAT!

I'm so glad you asked about room requests...
I've always done that at every resort and have
always been granted my wishes(It's Heaven,what
else would you expect??)
I've never stayed at AKL, much less the concierge,
so I was wondering if there is a layout map of the
resort to refer to? Also, how many concierge rooms
are there? Are they mixed with the standard rooms
or on a floor by themselves? I don't quite understand
how the whole lounge/concierge format works....
Any explanations would be fabulous!! It will help
to sell it to DH! LOL
