From what I can tell from the cost calculator at Davids, the points are the same to rent 2 studios as it is a 1 bedroom! Can anyone weigh in any pros and cons as to which would be best? Traveling would be 2 adults, 13yo, 8yo, and 3 yo.
I am sort of familiar with the lay out of Jambo, but not at all with Kidani. If we did 2 studios, Im sure there is no way to have them connect, correct? Anyone have any opinios or advice??
Thanks in advance!

If it costs the same or even a little more for the one bedroom just book it and be done. You'll get a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. Plus you could end up in two studios on opposite ends of the resort. You'll still have 2 bathrooms and 3 places to bathe people (two tubs and a shower) so it is a win.

No such thing as connecting studios at AKV.

The only advantage of 2 studios is 2 real beds. But you could be on opposite ends of Kidani.

You can request that the studios have the remark "traveling with" put on each reservation. Often then the rooms will at least be on the same floor, but they could be at the opposite ends.

With five guests I would go for the 1BR as the living room has beds that sleep three, the pull out couch (2) and the pull out chair (1). There is more space for the whole family.

If you want the second half bathroom in a 1 bedroom you have to book Kidani. Jambo 1 bedroom units only have 1 full bath.

I would go with a Kidani 1BR with you group. Of course, it could be a problem if you can't have two of the kids sleep with each other on the sleeper sofa. Of course, you could have the little one share the King bed with you, if that is an option. The 1BR gets you a full kitchen with a full-sized fridge, which is great if you bring or order soda, water, adult beverages, etc. I would think that the W/D would come in handy with 3 kids, depending on how long you are staying. You will also have two full bathrooms, which is priceless. As noted, if you get two studios, You will be in one and your spouse will be in the other, which could put a kink in the vacation.

Thank you very much for all the information!!! It sounds like a 1 bedroom at Kidani is the way to go!!! Now, 2 more questions! :) I know at Jambo, there are "standard" rooms that have partial savannah views. We stayed in one of these once and LOVED it!! Does Kidani also have such rooms? And i know Kidani has no quick service..... is there a station anywhere for the refill mugs, or would we have to go to Jambo even for that?

The filling station is at the gift shop by the lobby. I believe there is one by the pool, as well. At Kidani, if you want a view of the savanna, you should book a savanna view. There are some standard view rooms on the pool side with a glimpse of the Pembe Safari, but you cannot specify those, per se, and you could very well end up with a view of the bus stop.

Kadani 1 BR has 2 full baths, not 1 and a 1/2
We just stayed at BLT and only use the 1 shower - we use the second tub for storage of clothes to be washed so in my mind BLT and Kidani are 1 1/2 for our use.
Thanks for catching that for the OP.

If you book standard at Kidani you can expect a parking lot view. Jambo standard is a pool view with the possibility of a partial savannah view instead. We love the 1 bedroom standard view at Jambo but that extra bath isn't a huge deal to us (as I wrote above, we use the second tub for storage of clothes waiting to be washed).

For a larger family, it is great having a 2nd toilet and sink area.

I'm glad some like the Jambo 1br! (I've always viewed them as the "step sister" of DVC 1br units since the bathrooms are not "en suite" connected to the master bedroom)
