AKL 2 night stay no parks?

Has anyone ever done this? Is there enough things to see and do for kids ages 4 and 11? I'm thinking of staying here for 2 nights when we first arrive, maybe do Sea World and then transfer over to CR or Poly (still undecided) for our 9 night stay and do all the parks then. What do you think?

I told my kids about the resort and they are having a fit about staying there now. I also would like to try Boma.

I also thought about staying offsite somewhere, maybe near DTD since there is so much to do over there. I would like to be able to get away without having to rent a car. I know regardless of where we stay for those two nights we would have to either take a taxi or a town car to Sea World.

Yes. My kids had so much fun at AKL, there was so much to do, Animal tracking, Music, Night goggles, decorating cookies & more. DH & I have said the only thing we would have done different on our last trip was not go to TL & spent more time at AKL.
