We've never eaten breakfast at Akershus, but have eaten lunch & dinner many times. So, all I can give is advice on that. It's probably my favorite "buffet" in the world, even though you order your entree from the l / d menus. The menu is different than typical american food, but we find it quite tasty. The buffet has lots of different types of fish you can try in the tradition of their culture. Several different cheeses, too. Plus they have fresh fruit and salads. Their desserts are surprisingly good. If their pastries are along the same lines, then they should be good as well.
It's definitely the best place to get a pic with Belle. We've seen / been greeted by / had pictures with all the princesses here...Aurora, Snow White, Belle, Ariel, Jasmine, Cinderella and even Mary Poppins. I think they usually only rotate 4 at a time though. They take time to sign the autograph books, have a pic or two taken and even chat some with the kids. Much different than our experiences at CRT. It's DD5's favorite character restaurant and always a must do for us. We've never felt rushed and the service has always been good, especially if you ask about their culture / foods...basically act interested in Norwegian food. And, it's one of the few places in the World you can get a Voss water (in case anyone is a water snob). LOL
Even with an ADR, there usually is a wait of about 15 minutes. They seem to take several ressies in at one time, so depending on how you get called, you might have to wait for other parties to have the pics with Belle. But, it's never been a big deal for us.
Also, if you time it right, you can come out, head over to China and meet Mulan...nice way to get most of the princess greetings over pretty quick.
