Akershus pre-princess

My DH is 1/2 Norwegian and we were planning to go to Akershus . We've spent some time in Norway with relatives and have experince with authentic Norwegian fare. I had heard good things about Akershus, but has it gone downhill since the Princesses arrived? I heard the menu was modified. Norwegian food is not a favorite for alot of people, but just wondering if anyone who liked it before still feel that is is authentic, or has it been modified too much?

I would not say the menu has been modified as much as I would say it has been destroyed. It used to be one of my most fovorite restaurants in all of WDW. Besides having jumped the price by almost $10.00 when adding the Princesses, they have removed the kaltbord buffet. The waiter will bring a platter of appetizers and then you can oder hot dishes off the menu.

That's what I was afraid of...I had heard some negative comments about a change
I guess we'll still go, since we haven't had a chance, but just maybe make it a quick lunch instead of our big dinner...
The kaltbord would've been great, judging on what the relatives served us. Do you know if the counter service Kringla is any good?

The desserts are wonderful. Here is the menu. as you can see, there is not much of a selection other than the desserts.
